‘Chicago P.D.’ Fans Mourn Death of Markie Post in Heartbreaking Tributes

Fans are writing heartbreaking tributes to Markie Post following the Chicago P.D star’s death. The actress died of cancer on Saturday. Despite her cancer, Post continued to work. Aside from Chicago P.D, Post is also known for her roles in Night Court and The Fall Guy. In a statement, her family talked about who she was as a person along with her achievements.

“Our pride is in who she was in addition to acting; a person who made elaborate cakes for friends, sewed curtains for first apartments, and showed us how to be kind, loving, and forgiving in an often harsh world,” her family wrote in a statement.

Fans, Friends, and Fellow Actors Have Paid Tribute

Fans have taken to social media to express their love for the actress.

“RIP to Markie Post, a truly great actress who starred as Christine Sullivan on the TV show Night Court,” one fan wrote “This feels too soon, especially since Charlie Robinson passed away just last month. Very sad news this Sunday.”

“The loss of [Markie Post] is heartbreaking,” another person wrote. “I loved her work. She was gorgeous, funny & just made everything she was in better. She will be missed.”

Fellow actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan also shared kind words for Post.

“Markie Post, a firecracker of a person on screen, and more off. I only met her a couple times, Hil loved her dearly. Love at first meet for those two. Like minds and all. Very sad couple days here, and everywhere that was touched by Markie. Big love to her family and friends.

Fellow Chicago PD co-star Sophia Bush took to Twitter to express her love for Markie.

“I’m just heartbroken at the news of Markie’s passing … she was a rock. A light. A great friend and a phenomenal scene partner. She brought sunshine everywhere she went. Prayers,” she wrote.

Markie Post Left a Massive Mark on the Entertainment Industry

Markie Post was born in Palo Alto, California in 1950. Her impressive career really took off in the 80s, and she didn’t slow down afterward. She first got her start in entertainment by working behind the scenes of different game shows and got her first acting credits in 1979.

She got her big break as Terri Michaels on The Fall Guy. Post stared in an impressive 65 episodes from 1982-1985. Then, in 1984 she was cast in Night Court, playing Christine Sullivan. After that, it seemed like every show wanted her. She’s made appearances in shows like Scrubs and 30 Rock.

With as many acting credits as she has, Post touched the entertainment industry with her kindness and skill. Post will be incredibly missed.
