‘Chicago PD’ Star Marina Squerciati Opens Up About How Being a Mother Gave Her An Advantage of the Series
During a February 2021 interview with Us Weekly, Marina Squerciati discussed how her personal experience as a mother helped with her Chicago PD character fostering a young girl named Michaela.
“It’s just like what I do every day,” the Chicago PD star explains. “I Amy not be able to hang out with the cast because I’ve gotta go home and tick somebody in. You do the job the same.”
While discussing how she approached being a new mother when she welcomed her own daughter in 2017, the Chicago PD castmate admitted she called the hair and makeup department to help her with her look. “I was like, ‘Sweatpants and no makeup?’ Very little goes into what happens when you’re a new mom, at least for me. God bless the women who can put effort into their faces. But I can’t.”
LaRoyce Hawkins Talks Representing His Hometown of Chicago on the Hit Series
While chatting with RollingOut in 2016, LaRoyce Hawkins discussed what it felt like to represent his hometown of Chicago on Chicago PD. “Before I got the opportunity, it was definitely a struggle. I used to get behind on bills a lot, but I never got behind on my dream.”
The Chicago PD star then said that while he had some ups and downs, it never felt like he was struggling. “I just understand it as a struggle now because I’m in a different situation. I live downtown now on Lake Shore Drive.”
Luckily for him, the Chicago Fire castmate had support from family during those rocky times. “I had to borrow a lot of money from family members. It’s been real, but I think they always knew that it would come back around.”
