Chip and Joanna Gaines Savor ‘Last Days of Summer’ in Adorable Family Beach Video

Joanna Gaines and her family soaked up the sun yesterday at a gorgeous California beach. The “Fixer Upper” stars from Waco, Texas, enjoyed a beach day to “savor the last days of summer.”

Gaines posted an adorable video montage of the fam playing in the sand, riding the waves, and tossing a frisbee around a beautiful beach. She added Weezer’s hit song “Island in the Sun” to her Instagram video to really round out those summer vibes.

“Savoring the last days of summer,” Joanna Gaines wrote in her caption.

From the looks of it, only the Gaines’ two youngest sons joined Chip and Joanna on the beach trip. The couple’s youngest son, three-year-old Crew, can be seen building sandcastles and running towards the waves. And their second youngest son, 13-year-old Duke, tosses and catches a frisbee with his dad.

The montage includes a mix of stunning pictures and videos, including an adorable pic of little Crew holding Joanna Gaines’ hand, a close-up of some seashells in Joanna’s pocket, and the word “California” written in cursive in the sand. That’s the only real clue we have that the Gaines took a trip out west, though several fans in the comment section said that they recognized the beach as Santa Barbara or Malibu.

Chip and Joanna Gaines Launch Magnolia Network, New ‘Fixer Upper’ Show

If you’re not already following Joanna Gaines on Instagram, it’s high time you hit that follow button. Not only do you get to see adorable montage videos of family beach trips, but Joanna also updates her page with sneak peeks of her shows on Magnolia Network.

Chip and Joanna launched Magnolia Network last month. It was supposed to primarily be a cable channel, but with cable viewing dropping in the last few years, the Gaines decided to release on Discovery+ for streaming first. The network will go live on cable TV in January 2022.

The Gaines decided to start the channel to broaden their focus. It’ll feature not only home renovating/decor shows, but also a cooking show (“Magnolia Table”) and a documentary talking about Chip’s training and running in a marathon. Their iconic house-flipping show, “Fixer Uppers,” will also get a nine-episode reboot called “Fixer-Upper: Welcome Home.”

You can stream episodes from any number of Magnolia Network shows now on Discovery+. The couple picked Discovery over other streaming platforms because the company didn’t require Chip and Joanna Gaines to front an entire series (like “Fixer Uppers”). They wanted to spend time behind the camera, not in front of it, for a change. Though you’ll still see the couple out and about on various shows.
