Popular rock artist Chris Daughtry recently announced the tragic and unexpected death of his 25-year-old daughter Hannah.

Chris Daughtry is part of the band Daughtry, which he formed after competing on “American Idol.”

The Daughtry Instagram account posted a message which stated, “Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry’s daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been postponed.”

Daughtry Fans Outpouring of Love After Tragic Loss

Daughtry was on his concert tour when his daughter was discovered dead in her Nashville home on Friday. He shared the news with his fans and also stated, “The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this very difficult time. Further details will be made available at a later date. The investigation into this tragic death is still ongoing.”

Chris Daughtry Family and Music Life

Deanna has two kids from a previous relationship — Hannah and 23-year-old Griffin. Chris and Deanna met in 2000 and now also have 10-year-old twins together, Adalynn Rose and Noah James.

Hannah tragically passed away as Daughtry was on tour for his new album “The Dearly Beloved,” which is the band’s sixth studio album. It came out on September 17 and includes hit songs like “Lioness.”

According to People, on November 3, the band took off on a tour starting at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Daughtry then went to several East coast shows and his next stop would have been in New Jersey.

Daughtry himself started his successful career in music after he came in fourth place on the fifth season of “American Idol” in 2006. He’s one of the most successful artists to appear in the singing competition, behind artists like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson who won their seasons.

He started a band soon after and was up for several Grammy Awards in 2008. The band includes Daughtry, Elvio Fernandes, Josh Paul, and Josh Steely.

At this time it’s unclear how Daughtry’s stepdaughter passed away and the investigation is currently ongoing. Deanna and Chris Daughtry will likely post an update in the coming days, including some kind of funeral announcement.
