The former American Idol contestant is the stepfather to Deanna’s two children from a previous relationship. That included 25-year-old Hannah Price who died last week in her Nashville, Tennessee home. The couple also have two biological twins together. An investigation into Hannah’s passing began on Nov. 12 and is ongoing. However, rumors quickly circulated that her death may have involved foul play.
On Friday afternoon, Deanna Daughtry took to Instagram to clear up the widely spread rumors that Hannah was murdered. She specifically stated that Hannah’s death “being investigated as a homicide is false.” Her mother posted a lengthy explanation and shared an old photo of Hannah as a little girl.
Deanna says she revealed concerns with some people the day authorities found Hannah. Chris Daughtry’s wife thinks someone took those concerns and shared assumptions to the media. Yet she admitted that no one should jump to conclusions. Additionally, Deanna asked that everyone let the police do their job.
“I lost my child and I’m having to now also deal with rumors and assumptions about her,” Deanna wrote on Instagram. “The people who loved her are in pain and we are mourning. They are not talking to the press, they are not spreading rumors, and they sure as hell are not making this about themselves. So everyone please just stop! Let the investigating officers do their jobs… Hannah was on this earth with us for 25 years. There is so much more to her story [than] what you are reading. I loved my daughter so much & I am experiencing the deepest emotional pain I have ever felt!”
Chris Daughtry ‘Devastated’ and ‘Heartbroken’ Over Daughter’s Death
Over the weekend, Chris Daughtry broke his silence about Hannah’s death in a heart-wrenching Instagram post. The 41-year-old rock musician recently lost his mom as well following her fight with cancer. But Daughtry admitted that the two tragic losses were very different. He at least got to say farewell to his mother. Unfortunately, Daughtry and his family didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to their daughter Hannah.
“I am still processing the last 24 hours,” he wrote. “I’m absolutely devastated and heartbroken. I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family.”
“Thank you all for your kind words and condolences,” Chris Daughtry continued. “They are truly felt and appreciated. I am now taking time be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss. Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply.”
