Clint Eastwood’s large family spent Father’s Day admiring their talented fatherly figure, Clint Eastwood.

One person who was celebrating the director known for films like “American Sniper” and “Million Dollar Baby” was his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Eastwood.

She is married to Clint Eastwood’s son, Kyle. Clint Eastwood had two children with Maggie Johnson, Kyle and Alison.

Cynthia Eastwood posted several photos of the Eastwood family celebrating the national holiday. She captioned the photos, “Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful husband & father-in-law. I hope everyone had a great day celebrating!!”

It’s unclear exactly how many kids Clint Eastwood has. It is reportedly eight, but he has never confirmed the exact number of kids he has. His relationship with his wife Maggie was also an open relationship while they were together.

Kyle Eastwood Career

Kyle Eastwood is a jazz musician. He originally studied film for two years at the University of Southern California but instead decided to pursue a career in music. Now he’s a pro on the electric bass guitar and double bass. He was a session player in the early 1990s and led his own quartet. He released his solo album, “From There to Here,” in 1998.

Eastwood would eventually also release “The View From Here” in 2013 as well as several other projects over the years. He has also contributed music to nine of his father’s films, including pictures like “Mystic River,” “Million Dollar Baby,” “Flags of Our Fathers,” and “Letters from Iwo Jima.”

As for Clint Eastwood, he has a bit of a secret past that interlocks with jazz music. He was a talented pianist and once considered a future as a musician. Clint Eastwood helped Kyle learn some of what he knows today. He even appears on a track off Kyle’s 2004 album “Paris Blue.” In the song “Big Noise,” that’s the iconic director-actor himself showing off his whistling skills.

Clint Eastwood and His Son

According to a The Guardian article from 2011, Clint Eastwood took his son to a Monterey jazz festival when he was just 8. He was in complete awe over some iconic jazz stars like Count Basie Big Band, Sarah Vaughan, and Dizzy Gillespie.

“I grew up listening to jazz, because that’s the music my parents were listening to. My dad showed me the first thing I ever learned: I was playing the left-hand part and he played the right,” Eastwood told the publication.

Sometimes, being the father of someone as iconic as Clint Eastwood could be a pretty heavy burden to carry. It can cause his kids to question if their success is a product of being related to him or their own hard work.

“It can be a big shadow sometimes. Obviously, it gives people a preconceived idea of who you are. I did think about changing my name before going to film school, but I figured people would find out anyway, and then I’d be stuck with some other name. People would be like, ‘Why is your last name Ferguson?'”Kyle Eastwood shared.

Despite it all, Eastwood seems to play an active role and is an inspiration for several of his kids.
