We love a good crossover scene! We especially loved seeing this crossover scene on “The Conners” featuring Aaron Rodgers reprising his role as “Jeopardy!” host last night!
It’s always fun to see a show feature another real-life show during one of its episodes. And that’s exactly what happened during last night’s episode of “The Conners.” During the episode, Aaron Rodgers plays himself as “Jeopardy!” host and Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) acts as a contestant on the show. During the hilarious scene, Jackie talks to her family about her time on “Jeopardy!” The scene cuts back to Jackie hilariously complaining to Aaron after not making it to the Final Jeopardy! round.
Aaron Rodgers Guest-Stars in This Hilarious ‘Jeopardy!’ Scene From ‘The Conners’
“Aaron, I need to talk to you. I mean, I’m sorry but I really should be advancing too,” says Jackie.
“Yea, but you said it after you heard one of the contestants say it first,” replies Aaron.
Since her first attempt didn’t work, Jackie goes with a different approach. She claims that her buzzer was broken.
“Okay, well, I think there’s something wrong with the buzzer,” says Jackie.
“Could it be possible that maybe you were just pressing it a little bit late,” jokes Aaron.
“Well, then how do you explain this!” says Jackie as she presses the buzzer expecting it to be delayed. (The buzzer works fine).
“Oh sure, now that it’s not costing you a dime, it works fine!”
Aaron Rodgers continues to tell Jackie that her time on “Jeopardy!” is over. But Jackie persists. She claims that Aaron is being harder on her because there’s obvious chemistry between the two of them.
“Between who and who?” asks Aaron confused.
When all else fails, Jackie begs Aaron to let her stay because her mother is watching the show. Aaron doesn’t take the bait. Instead, he offers to walk Jackie to her car and make a video for her mother on the way. Jackie agrees. The scene cuts back to Jackie with her family.
“He was full of crap. They had me in handcuffs the second I hit the parking lot,” says Jackie.
How Does Aaron Rodgers Rank on the ‘Jeopardy!’ Ratings Host List?
Since Alex Trebek’s passing, there have been several temporary hosts on “Jeopardy!” The first to fill the role was “Jeopardy!” all-star Ken Jennings. He served as a temporary host on the show for six weeks. And, according to Broadcasting + Cable, he ranked in with a 6.2 rating. “Jeopardy!” executive producer Mike Richards took second place with a 5.9 rating. And Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers landed in third place with a ranking of 5.6. Not too bad, Aaron!
TV journalist Katie Couric also served as a host and came in at 5.3. Currently, “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker is filling the role. Following Whitaker will be fan-favorite contestant Buzzy Cohen, “The Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik, and “Today” show co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie. We’ll just have to watch and find out how the rest of the temporary hosts rank on the ratings list.
