Jill Dillard is speaking out amid her brother’s recent charges. On Sunday, Dillard took to Instagram to reflect on the importance of having a community that can provide support for their family at the time. On Thursday, authorities arrested Josh Duggar, and the courts indicted him on two federal charges on receiving and possession of child pornography. If convicted, the 33-year-old father of six is looking at 20 years in prison.

“We were reminded this morning in church about how important community is,” his sister wrote alongside a photo of the Starbucks coffee. “I think I’ve brought this up before, but I’ve literally prayed for [a] good community!! We need others for support, prayer…people to do life with and so much more!”

The 28-year-old went on to add that this past year has “tested all of us so much,” but believes that in these difficult times, some people can see “more clearly who your people are as they become the hands and feet of Jesus.”

She also asked her followers if they have a good community they feel that they can belong to. “Do you have [a] good community or are you in a season where you’re praying for and being intentional to build community (…yeah, sometimes it takes some work!)?” she wrote. “Who are you grateful for today? I have a growing list!”

Although Dillard didn’t comment on her brother’s charges, she published the post just days after the Duggar family became the center of a controversy involving the family’s oldest son.

On Thursday, U.S. Marshals arrested Josh Duggar, and he remains in custody at the Washington County, Arkansas jail. A federal grand jury indicted Duggar on two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. He’s currently fighting to be released on bond.

In 2019, Duggar allegedly obtained images of sexually abused children, but he entered a not guilty plea, and his attorneys said they plan to “defend this case aggressively and thoroughly.”

Dillard and her husband, Derrick Dillard, revealed last year they were was “distancing” themselves from the rest of Dillard family. Dillard told fans it had been several years since she last visited her parents at their home.

In 2015, she also revealed that she was one of the underage girls molested by a teenage Duggar. After the news broke of Duggar’s charges, the Dillards issued a short statement. “We just learned this information. It is very sad,” they said.
