In a recent discussion, CSI fans were in agreement that one couple from the original series stands out from the rest. Thankfully, it’s the couple CSI fans get to watch on the all new CSI: Vegas: Gil and Sara.
Over the course of the main series. The two had a major will they wont they as well as an on again off again relationship. This can get annoying if not done right, but fans loved the dynamic between Gil and Sara. Now, the couple has returned to the crime lab for CSI Vegas.
In an old reddit thread discussing CSI: Vegas, however, some fans worried about whether or not they’d be together. The finale essentially saw the two riding off into the sunset together. Therefore, people worried the re-boot would ruin their happy ending.
“Same! They sailed off into the sunset together, they HAVE to be together still. HAVE TO,” another fan responded.
Thankfully, those worries were put to rest.
Both Actors were Hesitant to Return to the ‘CSI’ Franchise
Gil Grisom actor William Peterson and Sara Sidle actress Jorja Fox both admitted the same things these fans did: they were hesitant about CSI: Vegas at first because they didn’t want to ruin Gil and Sara’s happy ending. Thankfully, CSI: Vegas seems to be more of an extension of their story than a threat to the original.
“I was hesitant,” Gil Grissom actor William Peterson told TV Insider “But the idea of coming back and doing this with Jorja…”
“I was also hesitant—I felt like the story left Sara and Grissom in paradise together. But getting to work with William Petersen again? They had me at hello!”
CSI: Vegas started out with a major controversy developing at the crime lab: someone who had worked their for decades was tampering with evidence. Now criminals may get set free and the entire crime lab and its reputation is in jeopardy.
All the while Gil and Sara continue to live life as a couple.
“Embarking on this phase, we’re going to meet them not only as a couple that’s together. But a couple that’s been living on and off a boat together for several years,” Fox told the publication before the show aired. That’s definetly remained true. While they’ve gotten in arguments, it’s clear they care about one another.
If you want to catch new episodes of CSI: Vegas, you can tune in to CBS on Wednesday nights at 10/9 Central.
