Patrick Duffy, the Dallas star, is dating his co-star, Linda Purl. Their “how we met” story is a classic Covid-19 lockdown dating story about a boy meeting a girl. Well, not exactly.

The legendary actor says that he is thankful for Covid getting him to start dating Linda Purl. The 71-year old star of Dallas began dating his 65-year old co-star during the lockdown. But, their story is unique and certainly fitting with our age of technology.

Four years ago, Patrick Duffy’s wife passed away after suffering a heart attack. He and his wife Carolyn were married in 1974 until she passed away in 2017.

However, he notes that he wasn’t in the business of looking for a relationship. Rather, meeting Linda Purl was happenstance, but he is exceptionally grateful for their partnership now. Consequently, Patrick Duffy says that their budding relationship is purely a result of fate.

“I wasn’t looking for it. I didn’t feel I needed it. And then fate just went, swoosh! and changed the perspective. We started texting and then FaceTiming and then Zooming. We did a two-to-three-hour Zoom every single night. You get to know somebody really well when you do that.”

Patrick Duffy’s Covid-19 Relationship with Linda Purl

Patrick duffing began chatting to Linda Purl during the lockdown. As soon as the lockdowns were lifted, he went rushing over to see Linda.

Since then, there’s been no turning back from either of them. They are loving their relationship and exceptionally happy together.

“At the end of those two and half months, we were feeling a little different than just casual friendship, so I packed up my car, I drove 20 hours, and I was on her doorstep. I asked permission if I could kiss her, and we’ve been together ever since.”

Patrick Duffy says that their relationship came out of nowhere. The two TV stars are certainly falling in love quickly since they began dating.

“I never thought for a minute this would happen again. I never thought I’d feel this way again. And, I’m in an incredibly happy relationship.”

As he says, he even went on a long road trip to go see her. He says that the road trip was a confirmation of their relationship being authentic. 20 hours to go see someone is a long way, but the affirmation for both of them is awesome. In particular, Patrick Duffy adds that “I never thought I’d feel this way again.”
