Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is speaking out as she continues to recover from her illness over the past couple of weeks.
Inaba is usually a regular on social media, always taking the time to reach out and engage with her fan base. However, the talented dancer has been keeping things on the down-low for the past few weeks. On Sunday, she broke her silence. She said she has been recovering from severe pain and other complications as a result of her autoimmune conditions.
The Talk star revealed in her latest Instagram Stories that she is staying offline for a little while longer.
“On a growth break,” Inaba wrote. “Be back soon. Healing in motion.”
The Dancing With the Stars judge has been very open and vocal about her health issues. Inaba recently said that it had “been a rough few weeks,” but at least now she is in a place where she can “function.”
“All I want and desire is healing,” Inaba said.
‘Dancing With the Stars’ Judge Steps Down from ‘The Talk’
The TV star previously announced that she was going to step back from her role on The Talk. That came after both of her arms had gone numb and she was experiencing “sharp shooting pains.”
Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba first revealed her conditions to her co-anchors and fans on The Talk back in 2019.
“I feel so much shame when I go through these things,” the Dancing With the Stars judge admitted. “I want to be what people see. And people see a healthy person, from the outside. I look healthy — and I am really healthy, all things considered — but then I have these incredible sharp pains like today. [The hairstylist] was doing my hair and he barely touched me but I thought he burnt me with a curling iron because my body is in a fibromyalgia flare.”
Hearing Inaba’s story definitely hits a soft spot. In addition, it goes to remind us all that our greatest asset is perhaps our own health.
But even in times of doubt and pain, Inaba has been able to find some light. At the beginning of the week, she revealed that she will be returning for the 30th season of Dancing With the Stars.
“I’m so excited to share that Dancing With the Stars will be back for its 30th Season!” Inaba said. “I am so looking forward to returning to the ballroom with my dwts family @brunotonioliofficial @tyrabanks @derekhough and @grumpylgoodman.”
We are just as excited as Inaba and wish her the best on her road to recovery. For more on the cast of Dancing With the Stars, be sure to follow along right here on Outsider.
