A recent report has revealed Hollywood’s highest-paid actors, and movie stars Daniel Craig and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson top the list.

The James Bond actor took the top spot this year after raking in more than $100 million, according to Variety. Daniel Craig’s status as the highest-paid actor was bolstered by Netflix opting to buy his upcoming Knives Out 2 and 3 sequels. Netflix bought the sequels for $469 million following Lionsgate’s original movie.

Former WWE wrestler turned Hollywood leading man Dwayne Johnson comes in second on the coveted list. Variety‘s report says he is projected to pull in $50 million for Amazon Studios’ Red One film. Supposedly his deal is worth $30 million, but it could increase with back-end additions according to how it performs.

Actors Will Smith and Denzel Washington are tied for third with $40 million each. Smith will receive that amount for his portrayal of Venus and Serena Williams’ father in King Richard. Additionally, Washington will receive the sum for HBO Max’s Pretty Little Things.

In fifth place, Hollywood staple Leonardo DiCaprio will make $30 million for Netflix’s upcoming movie Don’t Look Up. In addition, his co-star in the film, Jennifer Lawrence, will make $25 million. Her paycheck ranks her at seventh and ties her for the highest-paid woman on the list along with Julia Roberts.

Daniel Craig Says He Won’t Leave His Fortune To His Children

While speaking in a recent Candis Magazine interview, Daniel Craig opened up about his plans for his massive Hollywood fortune. The 007 actor has been a leading man for years now. And he is officially the highest-paid actor in the industry as of this year.

Therefore it’s no surprise he’s amassing a significant fortune during his career. However, Craig recently revealed that he won’t pass the fortune onto his children. He considers inheritance to be “distasteful” and said he would instead spend it or give it away.

“I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go,” Daniel Craig explained.

The famous actor touched on the matter further with the addition of an old adage that he intends to follow.

“Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?” Craig recalled. “I think Andrew Carnegie [an American industrialist] gave away what in today’s money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it, too.”

Daniel Craig isn’t the only celebrity to share similar opinions about inheritances. That ’70s Show actor Ashton Kutcher revealed that he has a similar way of thinking on Dax Shepards’ “Armchair Expert” podcast in 2018.

“My kids are not getting like big…I’m not setting up a trust for them. We’ll end up giving our money away to charity and to various things,” Kutcher stated at the time.
