‘Deadliest Catch’ Star Josh Harris Shares Stormy Night Video of Mississippi After Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida has uprooted a lot of people’s lives, including “Deadliest Catch” star Captain Josh Harris.

Harris was filming “Deadliest Catch” with the rest of his crew in New Orleans just a few weeks ago. Since then, he’s had to evacuate the area along with countless other residents. He’s now waiting out the storm with his friends in Mississippi. Harris recently shared a video of himself with his friend, Jacob, sitting on a roofed patio while the storm rages around them.

“Oh f***. Today’s vibe is f**** ith a chance of f***” says Harris as he pans across the sky with his camera.

“What do you think, Jacob?” asks Harris as he points the camera towards Jacob.

“We’re good,” says Jacob confidently. “There’s power on. There’s no sign of touchdown. A little rain, a little lightning, a little thunder. We’re good.”

“A little lightning, a little thunder,” replies Harris.

“Yup, we’re alright,” says Jacob.

“Yea,” says Harris. “Right after a massive hurricane, we’re in Missippi dealing with this s****.

Harris then directs his comments to all those who are suffering as a result of the hurricane.

“Be safe, everybody,” says the ‘Deadliest Catch” star. “God bless all the souls dealing with the hurricane.”

Be safe,” says Jacob.

‘Deadliest Catch’ Star Josh Harris Is Used To Overcoming Obstacles

Crab fishing is an inherently dangerous job. Every day of work puts fishermen face to face with the possibility of drowning. So, in that way, Josh Harris is very used to working through daily challenges. But the past two years have thrown even more challenges his way.

But this hurricane isn’t the first crisis the ‘Deadliest Catch’ has had to navigate. Last year, he had to deal with figuring out how to continue working during the pandemic. He even came down with COVID-19 last year and had to temporarily leave his crew. During a recent episode of “Deadliest Catch” fans discover that Harris had to take some time off last year after contracting the virus.

During a brief video call, Harris tells his crew that he will have to quarantine before he resumes any work.

“I can’t go anywhere, I have to quarantine,” says Harris during the clip. “I don’t feel sick or anything right now, but I mean, I don’t know. You watch the news and you see what happens to people and it’s scary.”

Obviously, the latest episodes of “Deadliest Catch” were filmed almost a year ago. So fans don’t have to worry about whether or not Harris made it through. He certainly did and can be seen in up-to-date social media videos like the one above.
