The Duck Dynasty family gathered together for an emotional online call to young Mia Robertson, just before she headed into surgery.

Mia Robertson is just 17 years old and is the daughter of Jase and Missy Robertson. She is also the granddaughter of Duck Dynasty star, Phil Robertson. However, she has had to face much more than your typical teenager.

Mia Robertson was born with a cleft palate — an opening or split in the roof of the mouth. The birth defect occurs when a baby’s lip and mouth do not form properly during development in the womb.

As a result, the young Robertson has already had to undergo 14 surgeries. The first of those procedures occurred when she was just three months old. However, she recently underwent another surgery and her family made sure that she knew they were praying for her.

Mia’s mom, Missy Robertson, posted a video of the emotional Duck Dynasty get-together to her official Instagram page.

“Poppy – zooming into pre-op,” Missy Robertson captions the emotional video. “When both of her grandfathers love the Lord God with all their might, it’s not any wonder why Mia is doing so well.”

And as part of her post, Missy Robertson also shared a prayer for her only daughter.

“John 14:13-14 ‘And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.'”

“Hebrews 11:1 ‘Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.'”

‘Duck Dynasty’s’ Mia Robertson Remains Positive

Mia Robertson has without a doubt been through even more than most people can comprehend. After putting surgery No. 15 behind her, she once again begins on the road to recovery. But she isn’t letting the challenges that she faces keep her from smiling.

The Robertson family has also started up a foundation in honor of Mia called The Mia Moo Fund. In addition to accepting donations to help other kids with cleft lips, they regularly post updates about Mia’s journey on the website. In fact, upon logging into the site, a big picture of Mia smiling pops up with a message.

“There is ALWAYS a reason to smile!”
