On Thursday, Duck Dynasty daughter Bella Robertson shared a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating her husband’s birthday.
The two young newlyweds just tied the knot last month on June 5th in Louisiana. But July 22nd is all about Bella’s husband Jacob Mayo who just turned 22 today. His bride made sure to mark the occasion by sharing a moving post with her more than 630,000 fans and followers. Bella called her husband “golden” and said that he makes her “the happiest girl in the world” each day.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Daughter Bella Defends Choice to Marry at an Early Age
Ever since they got hitched, Bella and Jacob Mayo seem to be on cloud nine like any other newlyweds. However, the married couple have dealt with backlash from those who think they shouldn’t have gotten married at such a young age.
Jacob proposed to Bella, 18, last year after the pair dated for about six months. While that isn’t long, the two have been friends since their grade school days. Unfortunately, many people, especially on social media, have criticized their decision to get married this early in life.
In December, Bella spoke with Entertainment Tonight and defended her fiancé and their engagement. She made sure to note that it was her decision to accept his proposal. In addition, the Duck Dynasty star referenced that many of her own family members tied the knot to their spouses at a young age too. For example, her parents Willie and Korie Robertson also said “I do” at 18 years old.
“We started dating because he came home from college to be here for quarantine, and that’s been a big factor,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t know if normally I would have gotten engaged to someone after six months, if we would have just met and started dating, you know? But on top of that, in the south so many people get married so young. Like, my parents got married at 18, my brother got married at 18, my grandparents married at 18. It’s very common around here so it didn’t really shock me too much about my age.”
