Outsiders, you’re definitely going to like what Dwayne Johnson is cooking. And drinking, too.
The Rock’s “Mana Mobile” is hitting the second month of its Great American Road Trip. Its mission is to spread joy, contentment and community spirit by breaking bread and drinking cocktails. Specifically, those cocktails are mixed with Teremana handmade tequila. That’s a new project for Dwayne Johnson. Besides starring in movies, the Rock also is a tequila entrepreneur.
Take a look at the description of the tequila, which was created in Jalisco, Mexico:
“In life we care about the things that have deep meaning to us – family, friends, work, good times and the not so good times. Our tequila is no different. TEREMANA combines two words that are meaningful. ‘TERE’ derived from the Latin ‘terra’ meaning earth and ‘MANA’, the Polynesian word meaning spirit – Teremana is the “Spirit of the Earth.”
According to a statement from the tequila company, the name also is based on a philosophy Dwayne Johnson loves to share. That’s “Mana. Gratitude. Tequila.” He shows that gratitude, in part, by having the truck stop by fire stations and military bases.
The tequila truck heads to Washington, D.C. for a Thursday (Sept. 9) stop. Then it’s on to Pittsburgh (Sept 14) Detroit (Sept. 19) and Milwaukee (Sept. 26). It’s already traveled to Kansas City and Boston.
Stop By the Truck and Sample the Dwayne Johnson Cheat Day Treat
And if you stop by the truck, you’ll also get to taste a favorite Dwayne Johnson treat from one of the days the Rock allows himself to cheat. It’s the perfect brunch food — brioche French toast with Teremana-infused maple syrup.
Dwayne Johnson said: “I created Teremana to bring people together and I can’t think of a better way to bring people together than bringing the Mana Mobile directly to them. Our Mana Mobile will deliver delicious Teremana cocktails, fresh and amazing eats and a whole lotta gratitude to people, towns and cities across North America.”
There’s Speculation The Rock Will Be Part of Wrestlemania 39
Meanwhile, would you love to see Dwayne Johnson jump into the ring and proclaim his catchphrase? “If you smellllllll what The Rock is cooking” was everything in 1990s wrestling. There is speculation that Johnson will appear in WWE’s Wrestlemania 39 set for 2023 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
But count on Dwayne Johnson sticking with acting as his main gig. His Jungle Cruise action-adventure movie was one of this year’s few true blockbusters. Deadline reported that the movie earned a sequel, with Johnson and fellow star Emily Blunt reprising their roles.
Jungle Cruise surpassed $100 million in domestic box office receipts in late August. And given that the Covid pandemic still is impacting the in-theater movie business, cracking the $100 million is a huge benchmark. Jungle Cruise is only the fifth movie to hit it. The others were F9, A Quiet Place Part 2, Black Widow and Godzilla v. Kong.
Dwayne Johnson tweeted the sequel news, writing:
“ALL ABOARD. Mahalo to our buddy Borys_Kit for breaking the big Jungle Cruise sequel news!!! This is going to be FUN! Oh and cheers to Jungle Cruise just crossing $100M at the domestic box office.”
