He is one of the most well-known dads in Hollywood these days, and now Jungle Cruise star Dwayne Johnson is now opening about his fatherhood lifestyle.

During his recent interview with Fatherly, Dwayne Johnson opened up about being a father of three girls. “What was intentional was doing my best to be a better dad than my dad was for me,” The professional wrestler turned actor stated. “And my dad loved me with the capacity that he had. But we had a challenging, complicated relationship. So now with my daughters, especially my younger daughters, the intention is to just be a good dad and be there.”

Dwayne Johnson also explained that while he’s constantly in the spotlight due to his career, he still tries to act like a normal dad. While chatting about doing school runs, Johnson admitted, “I do, every morning. Well, here’s the thing, it’s harder for my wife too, because she’s so tired. So I always tell her, ‘Listen, I’ll get up in the morning.’ Because I enjoy getting up in the morning, dropping them off, and by 8:30 or by 8:45, I’m at the gym. So I’m already in my element and I let Lauren sleep in a little bit.”

In regards to avoiding raising his daughters to be obsessed with how they look, Dwayne Johnson explained, “I think what we’ve been doing with our babies is making sure that they understand the importance of making healthy choices and not necessarily worry about how do you look and how do you not look now.”

“It’s just difficult being in his presence when he breathes,” Johnson stated. The actor then shared that he and Reynolds are like an old couple. “We fight and we bicker and we Leo each other. We love our work, we work too much, love what we do, love to fish, love to have fun. Tell jokes, love to make each other laugh.”

Dwayne Johnson also stated that he is very proud of Reynolds’ success and what he’s been able to do. “And I think because we’ve known each other for such a long time, we had just a tremendous amount of trust.”

While speaking about Reynolds’ acting, Dwayne Johnson said that Reynolds will not break out of character, even if something is funny.

“He really stays in the moment. I, however, will completely break and kill the take. Restart the whole thing again. Waste time and money. But that’s who I am.”
