Dwayne Johnson fans already know that the actor’s latest Netflix film, “Red Notice,” has been a smashing success so far. But as of this week, it’s officially become the most-watched Netflix film of all time.

According to The Daily Mail, Netflix announced that more than half of the streamer’s 214 million subscribers have watched “Red Notice.” It’s also stayed on the platform’s Top 10 list in 94 different countries since it premiered on Nov. 5.

But the biggest measure of success? Dwayne Johnson’s new film clocked in 328.8 million viewing hours in just 18 days. Sandra Bullock’s 2018 movie “Bird Box” held the record before that at 282 million viewing hours in four weeks. Clearly, Johnson’s film had way more traction.

And that’s with a simultaneous theatrical release! Cinemark debuted the film in select theaters so people could also enjoy it on the big screen.

Wanda Gierhart Fearing, the company’s chief marketing and content officer, said “At Cinemark, we love when we have the opportunity to create a cultural moment and comprehensive entertainment experience around a film.”

She continued, “We are so appreciative of the enthusiasm and generosity from Netflix and Dwayne Johnson to make the in-theatre experience exciting and engaging for moviegoers with surprises, giveaways, and a Veteran’s Day discounted ticket offer.

“In the past year, Cinemark has shown more than 10 Netflix films in our immersive environment, and we look forward to testing financially viable models for both parties that have an exclusive theatrical window to eventize key films,” she concluded.

“Red Notice” might’ve made a huge splash because of its stellar cast. Aside from Dwayne Johnson, the film also starred Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.

Dwayne Johnson Celebrates Huge Milestone for ‘Red Notice’

Earlier today, Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to share his excitement about “Red Notice”‘s monumental success. He reposted some graphics and a caption from writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber on Instagram.

“Reposting this beautifully written post from my RED NOTICE creator, writer & director @rawsonthurber.
What’s crazy is this all started when we were having dinner 5 years ago and he said, ‘So… I have this big idea…’ I said, ‘I love big ideas, lay it on me’ 😊🥃 The rest is history,” Dwayne Johnson begins in his caption.

The repost reads, “Speechless. Just speechless. 328.8M view hours. #1 all time. 121M subscriber views. #1 movie in the world three consecutive weeks (a record). Top 10 in all 94 countries three consecutive weeks (a record). Fastest to #1 all-time (11 days). Biggest opening weekend of all time. 98th percentile in completion rate. 92% audience score. And still 12 days to go!!!”

Thurber’s original caption continues, “This only happens when an audience embraces a movie that they love. We made RED NOTICE to entertain the world and the reaction to it has been so deeply heartening and inspiring I honestly don’t have the words to fully express my gratitude. So I’ll just say this: THANK YOU.”
