Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Tyrese Gibson’s Feud Apparently Over after Gibson’s Latest Comments

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Tyrese Gibson have reportedly resolved their years-long feud. The feud began in 2017 when Johnson was cast in a Fast and the Furious movie spinoff based on Gibson’s character.

Eventually, the spinoff became the Hobbes and Shaw movie that was released in July of 2019. But, in a recent interview on Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz, Gibson says that the two movie stars have made up.

During the recent interview, Gibson says that the two stars made up on a long phone call. It seems that Johnson and Gibson have resolved their conflict.

“Me and ‘The Rock’ peaced up, by the way. We talked for like four hours about three weeks ago. It was great.”

While talking about the make-up, Gibson explains why he felt Dwayne Johnson wronged him so badly. He says that the movie franchise, for the actors, is a family. He mentions that for someone to have gone out and made a movie based on his looks felt wrong.

“What’s interesting about the Fast and the Furious is it’s not about any of us individually. We’re like the UN at this point. Everyone gets to go to the theater and say ‘he and she looks like me.’”

“I just could not make it about me. That’s been really strange.” But, the long phone call between them seems to have mended the bridge.

History of Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson’s Feud

Back in 2017, Gibson posted a fiery Instagram that began the conflict. Gibson says that his character, Roman Pearce, no longer exists and that Johnson is a fake.

Gibson even threatened not to take part in the ninth Fast and the Furious movie is Johnson was still apart of the movie. He also told Johnson via Instagram that he needs to rethink the choice and not do the movie.

“If you move forward with that #Hobbs Movie, you will have purposely ignored the heart to heart moment we had in my sprinter. I don’t wanna hear from you until you remember what we talked about. I’m on your timeline cause you’re not responding to my text messages – #FastFamily is just that a family… We don’t fly solo.”

Johnson did not join the cast for the ninth Fast and the Furious movie. Perhaps if the movie franchise decides on another movie, both stars can be apart of the blockbuster.
