Eagles Add More Spring Dates to 2022 ‘Hotel California Tour’

by Victoria Santiago

The Eagles are choosing to extend their Hotel California tour again. In addition to the 2022 shows already announced, dates have been added for March-May. Each show will be comprised of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, as well as Deacon Frey and Vince Gill. The group will play the entire Hotel California album every night. Afterward, there will be an intermission and more music. The band will close out the night by playing some of their most popular hits. Additionally, there will be a choir and an orchestra joining the Eagles on stage.

The Hotel California tour first started in 2019 in Las Vegas. Since then, the Eagles have played more than 30 sold-out shows in 15 major U.S. arenas. Previous tour stops include five nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY, four nights at American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX, and three nights at the Forum in Inglewood, CA.

On Pollstar’s chart of 2021 Year End Top 100 Worldwide Tours, the Eagles are in fourth place. They’ve grossed $59.2 million from their 2021 shows. In 2020 they were in seventh place, bringing in a gross amount of $33.6 million. The pandemic didn’t stop them from playing shows in four different cities. All things considered, they did well for themselves during a pandemic.

Having a Never-Ending ‘Hotel California’ Tour Seems Fitting

Hotel California is rightfully deserving of a lengthy tour. The album is the third best-selling album in the US and has been certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA. Plus, the album has won two Grammy Awards for “New Kid in Town” and the title track, “Hotel California.” With this in mind, it’s easy to see how fans could keep wanting more.

This new chunk of tour dates will start on March 17th, 2022 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, OH. The Hotel California tour will hit multiple major cities before concluding at the end of May in Salt Lake City, UT. This is just for the newly announced shows, though. Shows that have already been announced will start on February 19th. Ticket presales will start next week on January 13th. Additionally, general tickets will go on sale the next day.
