Music legend Elton John recreated an iconic photo with rocker and actor, Alice Cooper and Eric McCormack. On Sunday, they came together to celebrate the birthday of their long-time musical collaborator, Bernie Taupin.

Of course, donning his signature sunglasses, John smiled for the snap as his friends surrounded him. Cooper pretended to hold a cigarette to McCormack’s lips as he subbed in for the late Paul Lynde.

On Monday, McCormack, the “Will and Grace” alum, shared the black and white snaps. He wrote in the caption alongside the photos: “Bernie Taupin’s 21st birthday and, last night, his 71st.” He added, “Fifty years later and I got to be Paul Lynde! Fifteen-year-old me would be losing his mind!”

The “Tiny Dancer” singer also took to social media to celebrate his long-time friend’s birthday.

As a way to say happy birthday to his long-term collaborator’s birthday, he wrote, “Celebrating the milestone birthday of my musical soulmate. Happy Birthday Brother, I love you.”

In another pic on Instagram, John’s husband, David Furnish, noted the star-studded line-up of guests in attendance. David wrote, “What a swell party it was Happy Birthday @bernietaupinofficial.”

In addition to Cooper and McCormack, Kiefer Sutherland was also in attendance. For John and Taupin, their friendship goes back decades. The two first met in 1967 when they both responded to an advertisement from Liberty Records who were recruiting songwriters.

Afterward, the pair began collaborating and have worked together on most of John’s music ever since. Taupin was a key figure and songwriter behind some of Jonh’s timeless hits such as “Rocket Man,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Tiny Dancer,” and “Candle In The Wind.” In 1992, the Songwriters Hall of Fame indicted the pair as official members.

Elton John & Husband Spotted With Sharon Osbourne

The birthday snap comes after John and his husband was seen having dinner with Sharon Osbourne. Onlookers saw Sharon wearing a white silk blouse with loose-fitting black trousers alongside John and his husband earlier in May.

Sharon accessorized the look with several pearl necklaces and a silver pendant and a diamond bracelet. She styled her iconic red locks into a laid-back, tousled look, and she accessorized with a stylish face mask.

Like always, John put on a dapper display in a blue coat that he wore over a white shirt and bright red trousers. Furnish went for a more toned-down look as he donned a black suit that he wore with a pair of simple white tennis shoes.
