Few more vibrant shots of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll remain: This classic, sun-laden Elvis Presley photo puts the “Blue” in Blue Hawaii!

Elvis Presley loved Hawaii, this we all know. So much so, in fact, that he would take countless trips to the island state for pleasure, business, and everything in-between. He would even film three films there, with Blue Hawaii being the most notable. Paradise, Hawaiian Style and Girls, Girls, Girls would follow. The late King’s estate is celebrating exactly this Monday with a phenomenal shot.

“I can sing this song all day.” – Elvis Presley,” his estate captions the photo on their official Twitter. Within, we see Elvis in his iconic Blue Hawaii surf shorts as he plays acoustic guitar on the ocean shore.

And if you came for context on this image, you’re in luck! We Outsiders are huge Elvis Presley fans (also not a secret), and sharing in the legacy of the King always adds some extra sunlight to a day.

Watch Elvis Presley Sing “No More” in ‘Blue Hawaii’

The shot above comes from one of Elvis’ most beloved musical films, Blue Hawaii. This still specifically comes from his performance of “No More,” one of the movie’s many iconic tracks. Check out the lyrics in full below, before revisiting his classic performance of the song:

No more do I see the starlight caress your hair
No more feel the tender kisses we used to share
I close my eyes and clearly my heart remembers
A thousand good-byes could never put out the embers

Darling I love you so and my heart forever
Will belong to the memory of the love that we knew before
Please come back to my arms, we belong together
Come to me, let’s be sweethearts again and then let us part no more

No more do I feel the touch of your hand on mine
No more see the lovelight making your dark eyes shine
Oh, how I wish I never had caused you sorrow
But don’t ever say for us there is no tomorrow

Darling, I love you so and my heart forever
Will belong to the memory of the love that we knew before
Please come back to my arms, we belong together
Come to me, let’s be sweethearts again and then let us part no more

“No More” – Elvis Presley

Blue Hawaii

“No More” is an undeniably great Elvis tune, but it was overshadowed by “Can’t Help Falling in Love”‘s tremendous success via the Blue Hawaii soundtrack.

Elvis and his production team went all out to make this first Hawaiian film, too. Blue Hawaii, as is obvious in the movie itself, shot primarily on location around Oahu and Kauai.

As for that famous wedding scene, the once-lavish Coco Palms Resort Hotel on Kauai played host. While Coco Palms is now in disrepair, Outsider has an extensive write-up on its history with Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and more.
