Elvis Presley Iconic Jumpsuit & Cape Going Up for Auction With Hefty Price Tag

A piece of music history worn by Elvis Presley is up for auction.

Kruse GWS Auctions is selling a jumpsuit and cape worn by The King. Elvis Presley wore the ensemble in 1972 when he was headlining Madison Square Garden. The historic white eyelet jumpsuit and cape were worn during his four straight sold-out nights at the iconic venue. He became the first person to do so. The outfit was designed by fashion mogul Bill Belew back in 1972.

Bidding is currently underway. At the time of this article’s publication, the jumpsuit is going for $350,000. Additionally, the cape is going for $45,000.

That isn’t the only Elvis Presley memorabilia up for sale. A lucky person will be able to have a private luncheon in Beverly Hills with his ex-wife, Priscilla. She married him in 1967.

“I thought, ‘Why not be a part of it?’” Priscilla told People. “I used to have a different opinion about these estate sales, but then as I got older I realized that you have to pass these things down to someone who’ll really appreciate them.”

Portions of the luncheon auction will go to the Dream Foundation. The charity supports terminally ill adults and their families. This was to honor Priscilla’s mother Ann, who passed away on August 2 at 95.

“I’m just happy this year has passed,” she added. “And hopefully we can have some good news come in.”

Other Exclusive Elvis Presley Items

There are more exclusive items that fans can bid on. Firstly, a lock of Elvis Presley’s actual hair with certificates of authenticity is up for bidding. How does someone have his hair? Elvis’ personal barber, Homer Gilleland, saved it! This is not just a lock of hair, but rather a rather large baseball size lot. This is the largest amount of his hair in the world and hasn’t been for sale in almost twenty years. In 2002, someone purchased it for $115,000 which is a world record for highest priced hair.

Secondly, a silver metal rattail comb Elvis Presley once used is going for $750.

A bible retrieved from Graceland and a Taekwondo 8th degree black belt award are also up for bid.

There is also the real racing helmet from Elvis Presley’s 1964 film, Viva Las Vegas, with Ann Margret. It features “Lucky” with a lightning bolt and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Secondly, a racing suit is also available for purchase.

If you’re looking for other movie memorabilia, pieces from Frankie and Johnny are also available. You can own his acoustic guitar, jacket, or shoes from the film.

In an incredible piece, there is also a signed $1 bill but it doesn’t just have Elvis Presley’s signature. It also features Johnny Cash’s signature. The current bid is $2,000.

Additionally, an autograph publicity photo is currently going for $1,100.

In other unusual pieces, you can own his automobile insurance policy or songwriter’s contract.
