Fun Facts About Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ as the Show Announces Its Final Season

Fox comedy show “Last Man Standing” is preparing for its final bow as the show will end after nine seasons.

Work on the show’s final season is underway and the new season is set to premiere on Fox in January, according to Deadline. The show stars Tim Allen as Mike Baxter, a happily-married man and father of three girls. The show’s comedy revolves around Baxter often finding himself at odds as the only man of the house against four women.

“I have been one lucky dude to have been part of Last Man Standing,” Allen says. “I so appreciate the incredible support from our fans over this near decade of work. As we approach the ninth season, I just admire and feel grateful for all the hard our wonderful cast and crew have done. We had all considered to end the show after last season, but together with Fox, we decided to add a year so we could produce a full season to create the gentle and fun goodbye. I’m looking forward to a memorable and hilarious final season.”

Last Man Standing Ending

The series is ending for a second time. The show ran on ABC for six seasons before it hit the cutting room floor in 2017. Fox picked up the show for a seventh season in fall of 2018. It is Fox’s only returning live action comedy series.

The ninth season will bring forth 21 episodes bringing the grand total of episodes to 194.

Allen’s own personal views have been known to pop in the show, according to TV Over Mind. He is known to wear Michigan gear on the show, the same as he did in his previous hit “Home Improvement.”

The Home Improvement similarities don’t end there as several actors have appeared in both shows including Richard Karn and Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
