Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines has always been a good-looking dude. But he has a brand new look now, and the reason behind it will warm your heart.
Chip Gaines and his wife, Joanna Gaines, are without a doubt two of the biggest stars on the Home and Garden TV channel. The couple started their very own show, Fixer Upper, way back in 2013. It spanned for a total of five years and it quickly made its way up the charts as one of the most popular design and renovation shows on television.
However, in addition to being a star on TV, Chip Gaines is just genuinely a good guy. He recently raised more than half a million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All he had to do was simply shave his head bald.
Now, if you know anything about what Chip Gaines looked like up until now, he had some pretty glorious hair. He grew out the long locks over the summer before shaving it all off on Friday to help raise awareness for St. Jude’s fundraising campaign. The Fixer Upper star even posted a time-lapse video that shows him with and without hair. Take a look down below:
“WOW… over $425k raised for @stjude!! We are completely blown away by how y’all came together to chip in for this amazing organization,” Gaines begins his post. “Jo and I are rounding that number up to an even $500k and we’re also sending $50k to the folks over at @cwhl_org to support the work they’re doing. Thank you all for being a part of this with us — what a powerful week that will no doubt have a lasting impact on countless lives.”
‘Fixer Upper’ Star Has Made Contributions to St. Jude in the Past
Chip Gaines must have a soft spot for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Because this is not the first time that he has helped raise money for them.
As a matter of fact, the Fixer Upper star brought in another quarter of a million dollars for shaving his head back in 2017. Two years after that, he raised an astonishing $998,000.
And that’s still not all. Chip Gaines and his wife Joanna have also helped to renovate the dining room at the Target House — a home for the hospital’s patients and their families. They also unveiled a new playhouse for them as well.
With all of that said, it’s safe to say that Chip Gaines is one of the good guys. Children obviously mean a lot to him. And that makes sense. After all, he and Joanna, 46 and 43, respectively, share five kids: Drake, 16, Ella Rose, 14, Duke, 13, Emmie Kay, 11, and Crew, 3.
