Actor Gary Cole announced on Wednesday that he will appear in a new Netflix series called ‘Q-Force’.

The ‘NCIS’ veteran will appear alongside ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ writer Gabe Leidman and stand-up comedian Wanda Sykes. Stars from other shows such as ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Connors’ are also expected to appear in the series.

Stars in ‘Q-Force’

According to Deadline, ‘Q-Force’ is an animated adult cartoon about a group of “gay superspies” who feel undervalued. The group tries to prove themselves through a series of personal adventures similar to James Bond.

Gary Cole plays another authoritative role in ‘Q-Force’ as the head of the American Intelligence Agency (AIA). The fictitious agency is similar to the CIA in mission and scope.

Will & Grace’s Sean Hayes stars as secret agent Steve Maryweather, also known as Agent Mary. Maryweather is a decorated agent in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Once he is outed as gay, the CIA sends Agent Mary to West Hollywood.

Once in Hollywood, Agent Mary meets a group of highly intelligent members of the LGBTQ+ community. Sykes will play an expert mechanic named Deb; Matt Rogers from ‘Our Cartoon Presidents’ plays the resident drag queen. Patti Harrison plays a hacker named Stat as well.

Many people know Sean Hayes as Jack McFarlane, the flamboyantly gay actor in NBC’s ‘Will & Grace’. The show ended in 2005 before being rebooted 12 years later. After 11 new seasons with the original cast, the show ended again last year.

The role earned Hayes a Primetime Emmy Award, a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award, one American Comedy Award, and six Golden Globe awards.

Gary Cole Also Joined ‘NCIS’ Recently

On top of his role in ‘Q-Force’, Gary Cole also recently landed a leading role in the next season of ‘NCIS’. According to Cinema Blend, Cole could help fill the void left by Mark Harmon and Emily Wickersham at the end of last season. There is also speculation that Harmon will only appear in a handful of episodes next season.

Cole will play FBI Special Agent Alden Park, Cinema Blend reports. While no details have been released about plotlines, it is a big role for the ‘Veep’ star. He won’t replace Harmon’s character Leroy Jethro Gibbs in any way. But, Cole and Agent Park provide a similar authoritative tone.
