Tina Louise may play the glamourous and famous movie star on “Gilligans Island,” but the actress herself has displayed some pretty amazing talents over the years. In the “Gilligan’s Island” third season episode, “All About Eva,” Louise gives audiences a glimpse of the incredible range and talent she displays as an actress.
In the “Gilligans Island” episode, Louise plays her regular role as the elegant and alluring Ginger Grant. However, in the episode, the actress takes on another role in the show as she faces a woman who is looking to replace her among the “Gilligans Island” group.
A Dual Role For Tina Louise, “Gilligans Island” Movie Star
The episode features Louise as a mousy single woman named Eva Grubb. She comes to the island to escape her daily life. Once there, offers the “Gilligans Island” castaways her boat. However, the bumbling star of the show, Gilligan, reveals that the castaways plan on coming back to the island for her after they reach civilization. Upon hearing this, Eva decides to hold everyone hostage by removing the boat’s spark plugs so it is unable to run.
Eventually, Ginger escapes and tells the castaways about Eva’s nefarious plan. Eva Grubb apologizes for her behavior, however, she leaves the island with the plan of replacing Ginger Grant back in civilization.
Gilligan and Crew Have Made Television History
“Gilligans Island” has the longest-running reruns in television history. The show can be seen worldwide. The popular sitcom also included a wide variety of special guests such as Zsa Zsa Gabor, Kurt Russell, and even the Harlem Globetrotters.
The series features a group of castaways who were all sailing on the S.S. Minnow when it capsizes leaving the group marooned on a desert island. The show’s namesake, Gilligan (Bob Denver) was the first mate to the captain of the S.S. Minnow. The boat’s captain, the Skipper (Alan Hale Jr.) has great affection for Gilligan. This is despite the fact he is regularly frustrated by him. The group also includes Ginger Grant (Louise) the glamourous movie star, the sweet “girl next door” Mary Ann (Dawn Wells). The millionaire (Jim Backus), and his wife (Natalie Schafer), and the professor (Russell Johnson).
