‘GMA’ Host Michael Strahan Shares Touching Photos of His Mom as They Reunite

A visit overdue! On Friday (December 3rd) GMA co-host Michael Strahan took to his Instagram to share some snapshots of him and his dog Enzo reuniting with his mother, Louise Strahan.

“Enzo and I love when momma is in town!!” Michael Strahan declared in the post. The snapshots featured him walking with his mother and Enzo relaxing next to her by a couch.

Michael Strahan’s father, Gene Strahan, passed away last year at the age of 83. In a touching tribute on Instagram, Strahan spoke about how he lost his hero. “It’s still hard to believe my dad is no longer with us physically. But I know his spirit lives on thru me and the rest of the family.”

Michael Strahan then spoke about that the biggest goal in everything he’s ever done was to make his father proud. “Knowing that I did that gives me peace, but also pushes me to continue. Because I know he’s watching from above.”

While continuing to write about his father, Michael Strahan stated that nobody is perfect, but his father was perfect for him and he’s grateful that Gene was his father. “Without him, I’m not sure where I’d be. But I know I wouldn’t have anything close to the life I have now.”

Michael Strahan went on to offer his followers some major advice – take time to hug parents, spouses, kids. “Let them know how you feel and don’t take it for granted that they automatically know that you love them.”

Michael Strahan Opens Up About Having Four Kids While Having a Busy Career Schedule

During a 2016 interview with People, Michael Strahan spoke about his being a dad to his four children: Tanita, Michael, and twins Sophie and Isabella. “My kids give me strength. I love being with the kids. To me, it’s all about family. Now more than anything.”

Michael Strahan also spoke about the struggles he dealt with after his divorce. “I think a lot of times when you split, people assume that the mother is supposed to take responsibility for the kids. But from day one, it was very important for me to be active. To be a part of their life.”

He then discussed the craziness of the twins’ schedule.

“The lives live a crazy life. One time they flew out to D.C. and interviewed the First Lady on GMA. Then the next day, their mom was sending a video of them riding horses and splashing around in the muddy cornfield.”

Michael Strahan also admitted that getting divorced is one of the toughest things he’s ever gone through, but he learned a lot about himself in the process.

“When you’re a single father with 4-month-old kids, and you gotta be with them all the time. It taught me that there’s nothing to be afraid of.”
