Just like us here at Outsider, “Gold Rush” star Rick Ness is a huge fan of Discovery+. He’s thankful fans and newcomers alike can binge past seasons of the gripping show on the streaming platform. In fact, he plans on binging his own show!

In an exclusive interview with Outsider, Ness discussed how excited he is to see “Gold Rush” finally join the world of streaming. “Gold Rush” is now in its 11th season and a lot has changed since the show began back in 2010. For one, Ness wasn’t originally a part of the show. He didn’t join until Season Three.

“It’s actually kind of cool. Because for the last couple of years, I was talking about going back and watching the very beginnings of ‘Gold Rush.’ The first season, the second season, stuff like that,” Ness told Outsider. “I actually watched it when it came out before I was even a part of it then. That was 11 years ago, I guess. I think it would be hilarious to go back and watch [the first few seasons] and see how different it was. And how far it’s come. I think that a lot of people actually enjoy that.”

Rick Ness Watches the Show With Friends

As far as the seasons featuring him, Ness admits that being a reality star has its ups and downs. It’s not something that he set out to be. But Ness said he’s gotten used to all the cameras over time. The “Gold Rush” star said he watches current episodes alongside his family and friends.

But sometimes it can be embarrassing as well seeing himself on the TV screen.

“I don’t know about enjoy [seeing himself on camera]. I’ve gotten awfully used to it I can tell you that. It’s not something you would have ever thought you would get used to,” Ness said. “So I guess after 10 years I have. If I’m being honest, a lot of my friends enjoy watching it with me. And my family. They think it’s pretty cool to watch the show, especially if I’m there watching with them. And I do catch most of them. Sometimes it’s embarrassing too.”

For viewers that want to catch up with Rick Ness and the gang, Discovery+ currently has all 11 seasons on its platform. It also has the show’s various spinoffs as well. Or if you’re already a fan, you can go back and watch the highlights and how Ness rose up through the ranks of the mining industry.
