Gwen Stefani wants friend and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres to stand up for her when she marries Blake Shelton.
So DeGeneres could be either a bridesmaid of maid of honor.
At least, that’s what the pop queen asked DeGeneres this week when Stefani was on her show. DeGeneres asked her if there was anything she could do to help with her upcoming nuptials.
That’s when Stefani made the ask of DeGeneres.
“I was thinking about that a lot, and I was picturing like a mauve bridesmaid,” Stefani told DeGeneres. “Maybe maid of honor, you know?” Stefani said. “We can put some extensions in, and we can make it a full flower arrangement. All that stuff.”
DeGeneres was more than happy to be in the wedding party.
“You just tell me the time and the place and I will be there,” she said.
“I don’t mind doing any of that for you, because you’re my friend and anything you ask, I will wear,” she said. “I will put extensions in my hair. Anything at all. That’s how much I love you Gwen.”
Gwen Stefani and DeGeneres Have Their Own Unique Style
If you’re a fan of DeGeneres, the long-time comedian and talk show host, you know she has a certain style. She’s not in frilly stuff. She keeps her hair cut short. And she prefers suits to dresses when she goes to fancy events. Her look is kind of the opposite of bridesmaid. But then again, Gwen Stefani also has her own unique, edgy style, so there’s no telling what her own dress will look like or those of her maid of honor and bridesmaids.
Stefani and Blake Shelton, the country star and Voice mentor, got engaged last October. But the two popular singers have dated since 2015.
Stefani and Shelton spent the pandemic at Shelton’s 12,000-acre ranch near Tishomingo, which is about 100 miles south of Oklahoma City. The ranch also is the planned sight for their wedding.
“It’s not that green right now, but it’s pretty magic, I have to say. I had no idea myself that it was such an amazing place, but it kind of feels like you go into a portal, and you’re like all of the sudden in nature, and I get to be like face to face with Blake Shelton every day.”
Her three boys also stayed there with Stefani and Shelton.
“This is the first time I’ve ever spent that amount of time manning the house,” Stefani told DeGeneres on the talk show. “We had about 12 people there. And I was cooking, I was cleaning, doing laundry, home-schooling, Zoom-ing. It was a lot. But it was a lot of fun at the same time. We found a baby armadillo. We found baby hogs that we were raising. Anything you can think of, we did it.”
