When life gets her down, Gwen Stefani turns to her faith for a source of strength. The singer opened up about her religion and beliefs on life’s journey.

In recent months, Stefani has offered fans a peek behind the curtain on her life. The 51-year-old singer shared her own personal struggles, offering a side of fame that viewers don’t always see. For instance, the singer opened up about her undiagnosed dyslexia and how it affected her as an artist and a parent.

But Stefani opened up with some general wisdom that may be inspirational to her fanbase. During hardships, Stefani turns to her religious beliefs. That proved useful during 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic when life suddenly felt uncertain from one day to the next.

“For me, I was turning to my faith right away,” Stefani told Fox News. “That was a seed that my mom planted in me when I was a little girl. It’s a journey. It’s almost like you get lost, it’s like you get lost on your journey. We all do and we all will and I will again at some point I’m sure.”

Gwen Stefani Believes Life is a Test

Going into more detail, the artist believes that hardships are ultimately a test. Sometimes, you don’t know a person’s character until you put them in a time of crisis. Stefani subscribes to the same train of thought during her own trials and tribulations.

“This is the thing, I always feel like this whole thing that we’re doing here, this life thing is a test,” Stefani continued. “And basically, you get given all of these crazy challenges to trick you to think that maybe it’s not a test and maybe nothing good is going to be around the corner.”⁣

But even Stefani has to admit that she has many blessings. One of those recent blessings includes an engagement to country singer Blake Shelton. After five years of dating, the two singers will finally tie the knot in a ceremony that’s guaranteed to be intimate but special.

“I feel like it’s the way you handle things, you never know,” Stefani said. “You’re gonna be blessed. You got to ask for the blessings. You got to keep engaged. That’s how I believe. That’s how I live my life. I’m getting better at it. It’s something you have to work on. It’s like a spiritual exercise every single day.”⁣
