Keanu Reeves undeniably helped pave the way for action– his estimated $360 million dollar net worth agrees. While the Canadian typically likes to lay low, his reputation makes that a little tricky. Reeves is the epitome of cool, calm, and collected. His life story is rife with a lot of tragedy, but a lot of triumphs as well. Through it all, the star remains humble.
Actor, philosopher, and philanthropist, he is the ultimate triple threat. Despite completely lacking a social media presence (by choice), the internet is coming together to celebrate another year of sharing the planet with Reeves. The star turns 56 today and we’re celebrating his birthday by looking back at some of the best Keanu Reeves movie moments of all time.

Let’s Get the Obvious Keanu Reeves Flick Out of the Way
We would be remiss to exclude The Matrix franchise from a list of the greatest works of all time from Keanu Reeves. Keanu’s character Neo found himself in the now infamous red pill versus blue pill debacle. Watching reality in its battle against a simulation, the cinematic series hosted a hoard of epic fight scenes. As the series progressed, so did the fight scenes. This is what Reeves told Rolling Stone back in 2000 almost 21 years ago to date.
“Before, we fought one at a time, and I know that they want me to do five. Which is master. That’s the real deal. If you can fight five people, that’s Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee stuff.”
Reeves also briefly touched on the fact that he was battling a serious neck injury at the time of filming. This makes the end result of the series that much more epic. Reeves poured everything into the films and if there’s one work that gets associated more with Reeves than any other, it’s definitely The Matrix.
The trailer for the fourth installation of the series actually dropped last month. The caveat is that only film execs and press were allowed at the event. The exclusive group that was present did give a resoundingly positive reaction to viewing the trailer, but the details are still completely under wraps to the rest of the public. Warner Bros continues to keep fans in the dark about the trailer’s official launch date.
A Forgotten Flick
Keanu Reeves doesn’t spend much time talking to the press about his work or anything really. In one of his more recent interview, however, the legend talked to Variety about his ideal reprisal role. The news shocked many fans as Keanu brought up one of his lesser-known (and lesser praised) works.
“I’ve always wanted to play John Constantine again. I just love that world, too, and I love that character. I just had a blast playing a character and [playing] in that world.”

What do you think? Whether or not fans can agree upon the icon’s best works, we can all take a minute to gather in celebrating the man, the myth, the legend himself: Mr. Keanu Reeves.
