Today we celebrate the birthday of popular actress Michelle Pfeiffer. She is officially celebrating her 63rd birthday on April 29.

Pfeiffer originally made her film debut back in 1980. She gained notoriety for her performances in the 1982 film, Grease 2, as well as in Scarface the following year. Pfeiffer went on to win acclaim and become a big-time star for her work in 1987’s The Witches of Eastwick. Not long after that, she received an Academy Award nomination for her role in the 1998 18th-century drama, Dangerous Liaisons. Pfeiffer also earned Oscar nominations for her performances in The Fabulous Baker Boys and Love Field.

The American actress is well-known for portraying a wide range of roles throughout the film industry. And she is widely considered to be one of the most prolific actresses of the 1980s and 1990s. However, many fans remember Michelle Pfeiffer for starring as Selina Kyle — aka Catwoman — in Batman Returns. Pfeiffer’s electric performance led to her portrayal of the comic book character becoming one of the most admired among fans.

There is no doubt that Pfeiffer’s career overall has been anything short of excellent. She was quickly labeled as a sex symbol and was cited among the world’s most beautiful women by different media platforms. And although her physical appearance was discussed a lot early in her career, she was certainly a lot more than just that. Michelle Pfeiffer has continued to establish herself as one of Hollywood’s leading ladies.

Early Life of Michelle Pfeiffer

Born on this day in Santa Ana, California, in 1958, Michelle Pfeiffer was the second of four children.

During her teenage years, the famous actress worked as a check-out girl at a local supermarket. She attended Fountain Valley High School where she graduated in 1976. Pfeiffer then went on to attend Golden West College. There, she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and was in training to become a court stenographer. Not long after, however, she decided that she would pursue an acting career.

Michelle Pfeiffer won the Miss Orange County beauty pageant just two years after graduating high school in 1978. That same year, she took part in the Miss California pageant, finishing in sixth place. After being involved in the pageants, Pfeiffer hired an acting agent and began to audition for film and television roles.

And, well, the rest is history. Michelle Pfeiffer has since become one of Hollywood’s richest stars. At least 15 of her films have grossed $100 million or more at the box office. Further, her total worldwide gross as a leading female actress is more than two billion.
