Former “Happy Days” star Linda Purl posted a new vacation pic alongside her friends and boyfriend in New Mexico. On Monday, the 65-year-old actress shared the photo on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into her relationship with Patrick Duffy.
Duffy, known for his role on “Dallas,” was married to the late ballet dancer Carlyn Rosser. She passed away from cancer in 2017. “My wife and I, in 48 years we were always together,” said Duffy, who shared sons two sons with Rosser, according to Daily Mail. In recent years, the actor grew accustomed to life as a widower. However, all that changed during quarantine when he began a romantic relationship with Purl.

They knew each other decades ago, but lost touch then rekindled their relationship at the beginning of the pandemic. While they started chatting over a group text, they eventually began a conversation with just the two of them. “At that point, I loaded up my car and drove 20 hours and ended up on her doorstep just to see if it was real,” said Duffy. “We haven’t been apart since.”
When it comes to his new-found love, Duffy says he knows his late wife would want him to find love again. “I feel quite honestly, that it is keeping with the desires of my wife, the fact that we are intended to be happy. So when it’s offered, think about it, do whatever you do, but don’t let it pass you up if it’s the right thing.”
Purl’s fans remember her for her role as Ashley Pfister in season ten of “Happy Days” in the early 1980s. She also played the daughter of Andy Griffith’s character in “Matlock” and played Pam Beesley’s mother on “The Office.”
Purl has been married four times, first to Desi Arnaz Jr. from 1980–1981. She married the screenwriter William Broyles Jr. in 1988, but they finalized their divorce in 1992. Purl was married to another screenwriter, Alexander Cary, from 1993 to 1999. Her most recent marriage was to James Vinson Adams from 2006 to 2011.
