Henry Winkler made a name for himself on Happy Days. Since then, he has moved on to a career that encompasses both film and television. At the same time, he works both behind the camera and in front of it. In fact, Winkler and his partners produced some great nostalgic TV shows. For example, they are behind the hit show MacGyver. That series became a cultural touchstone much like the one that started Winkler’s career. Still, fans who follow him more closely know something else about him. They know that Henry Winkler is, above all else, a good guy.

If you watch just about any interview that Henry Winkler has ever done, the kind of man he is becomes obvious. He seems like one of the most humble and down-to-earth stars to ever grace the screen. When he talks about his fans, you can see his gratitude. Likewise, when he talks about his close friend Ron Howard, you can see how much loyalty means to Winkler. Last night, he posted a tweet that highlights another virtue that he holds dear: accountability.

There are several things in the headlines that could spark a tweet about the importance of accountability. So, I’ll not pretend to know which of those Henry Winkler is referencing. However, the bulk of those headline items involve some of the nation’s highest courts. They are in place to enforce accountability. Currently, many believe they are not doing their job. At the same time, Winkler’s tweet is vague. It sill speaks volumes about his character, though.

In the tweet, Henry Winkler says that if there is no accountability his anger will become unmanageable. That’s a pretty bold statement. However, for someone with a strong set of personal morals, the lack of accountability in others could be infuriating.

Henry Winkler Isn’t Alone

If you go to Henry Winkler’s tweet and read the replies, you will see that he isn’t alone. In fact, you’ll see several people chiming in to say that they are right there with him. However, you’ll also see feedback about several different events that can be boiled down to the lack of accountability.

One of Henry Winkler’s followers has the right idea, though. Billy Zuleger posted a tweet in the replies that would calm just about any righteous fury.

He said, “Hey Henry, I don’t know what this is about but I’m just gonna send you a puppy pic.” Then, he did just that. Now, pictures of dogs won’t fix everything. In fact, there’s an argument to be made that they don’t fix much of anything. However, they will put a smile on your face.

The thing is, Henry Winkler isn’t wrong in a broad sense. Lack of accountability is something to get angry over. However, sometimes there are things you can’t change. So, you’re better off finding a way to bring your blood pressure down. On the other hand, that doesn’t mean do nothing. It means that you should focus your effort on changing the things that you can.
