If it wasn’t already clear by now, Henry Winkler is a conservationist at heart. He is calling for all of America’s rivers to be protected.
There is no denying that Henry Winkler has one of the most familiar faces in all of the film and television industry. If you are a fan of classic television, then you probably recognize Winkler by another name — Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli. Winkler rose to fame in the mid-1970s and 1980s when he played the role of the fan-favorite character Fonzie on Happy Days. He was so convincing in portraying Fonzie that he won two Golden Globe Awards and had three Emmy Award nominations.
But Henry Winkler is slowing things down nowadays, and making sure to make time for the little things. One of his favorite past times, of course, is being out on the water. Not only is he an expert angler, but he’s also a conservationist through and through. His latest post on Twitter illustrates that point perfectly. Winkler posted a beautiful photo of a river running through a mountain range.
“Save our rivers!!” Winkler said alongside the gorgeous photo.
By all accounts, it seems like fans of Henry Winkler agree with him when it comes to river and stream conservation.
“People may one day want to visit this magnificent landscape but can only get close enough to it through a photo on a calendar,” one fan replied. “Don’t let mining kill our streams and rivers.”
“That’s beautiful!” another person said. “I just don’t understand why people wouldn’t want to sustain such beauty and do what’s best for humankind.”
One fan responded by asking which river Winkler was talking about in his post. He replied back saying, “ALL of them!! They bring so much joy.”
Henry Winkler is an Avid Fisherman
Henry Winkler is reportedly an enthusiastic outdoorsman. And the outdoor sport he has taken to the most? That would be fly fishing. He got really into it during the 1980s after a close friend taught him and his wife Stacey how it’s done.
Since then, Winkler has used his social media channels to post some wholesome fishing content. So, with that said, if you enjoy Henry Winkler, fishing, the great outdoors, and beautiful scenery, you may want to head over to his official Twitter page and give him a follow.
The Happy Days star spends less time on set and much more of his time out on the water these days. Over the summer, he posted a spree of fishing tweets from a trip he took to Idaho. He was all smiles in his photos, posing with fish he had caught all while smoking a cigar.
“First of this Friday, thank you Idaho,” he wrote at the time.
