‘Home Alone’ Cast Plans to Reunite to Celebrate Anniversary of Film

Everyone has their own favorite Christmas movie during this time of year. Some folks may refer Elf while some folks prefer Christmas Vacation. Other folks may prefer Home Alone or the sequel for that matter. There is no right answer here, as we all like what we like. However, a lot of these films came out years ago. Because of that a lot of these folks that starred together in these movies grew apart and moved on to different things. The cast of Home Alone was no different. Good news, though, like the Home Alone cast plans to reunite to celebrate the anniversary of the classic film.

We know this because the man who played Buzz in Home Alone said the return together, “They have been planning a reunion online and I just recently, as in a couple of days ago, got on their messenger chat thread … And I have been trying to keep up with Jed Cohen and Diana [Rein] and Terrie [Snell] and Angela Goethals and Hillary Wolf. The family is moving on their own accord to get together, so who knows what’s going to happen in the future … I’ve come to realize that this movie, it’s bigger than me. It’s bigger than any actor’s ego. It has become part of indelible imprints in family — in their consciousness.”

How cool is that? It’s going to be tough, Outsiders, but it looks like though the cast is moving towards reuniting with one another thirty years later.

Culkin on ‘Home Alone’

It must be hard being Culkin sometimes, similar to the issues that Daniel Radcliffe has faced over the years for playing the role of Harry Poter. Folks associate the person with the character. Because of that Culkin revealed to Vanity Fair that he does not really watch the original movie all that often.

He said,“It’s background radiation at Christmastime.” Culkin had even lost track of how long it had been since had last sat down and watched the movie himself. He continued, “I’ve had people who want to sit down and watch it with me, which is both flattering and creepy.”

This is the complicated thing with starring in a role like Home Alone as a kid became a tradition for so many families all over the world. His role is iconic and it’s human nature to expect him to also view the movie the same, but from his comments, he doesn’t.

He concluded, “I’m remembering that day on set, like, how I was hiding my Pepsi behind the couch. I can’t watch it the same way other people can.” It was a different experience watching Home Alone for him. This is not good o bad, it’s just different. Only time will tell if Culkin also makes the trip to reunite with the cast of the original film.
