‘Home Town’ Stars Ben and Erin Napier Partner With Salvation Army This Holiday Season

Home Town stars Ben and Erin Napier know a thing or two about helping folks out. With the big-time show, it is kind of what they do as a family, especially if you have watched Home Town Takeover with the couple and everything that project entailed.

Now, the Napiers are partnering with the Salvation Army this holiday season in another effort to give back this holiday season.

The Napier’s revealed the news via their personal Instagram where they wrote, “It’s the season of giving and we are honored to join the @SalvationArmyUS helping hope march on for millions of families in need this holiday season. You can make a difference in your community by making a donation at SalvationArmyUSA.org! When you give local it stays local.”

The video highlights Giving Tuesday and why the Napiers have partnered with the Salvation Army to tackle Pandemic Poverty.

Why ‘Home Town’ Got Started

The Napiers are stars now of reality television, but it wasn’t always this way. The couple got married not too long after college. Ben started off as a furniture maker and the couple relocated to her hometown. Now, the HGTV show brings in over a million viewers as it has become a hit for both the community and folks watching at home in their own living room.

Erin said of the decision to CBS News, “I don’t like being told what I can and cannot do. I don’t like to be told that you cannot have a professional art career in Laurel, Mississippi. I don’t like to be told that the place where I’m from is dead. It is interesting and it’s creative, and it’s unusual. And I wanted to share that with the world.”

This attitude is about pushing back against what it is and what could be. Because of their efforts, the town has blossomed with stores popping up. This is because of the investment in the town by the Napiers. Ben said of growing out the city, “For me and my friends, the idea of having a shop in downtown where we could go and get our hair cut – nothing fancy, a regular men’s haircut – was, like, just the dream.” They just wanted their town to be lively once again.

Erin knew what she wanted the town to be. She said of it now to CBS News, “It’s a happy place.” She concluded, “They feel invested in Laurel and the story here. And I think they see something universal that maybe applies to where they’re from, too.”

That’s what makes Home Town so special on HGTV. Also why it has been such a success for the Napiers and their little town.
