Hugh Jackman is an accomplished actor of the stage and screen. Today, many people know him for roles like Wolverine in the X-Men franchise or Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. He is also a star of the stage. Over the course of his Broadway career, the Australian-born actor has taken home a Tony Award for his performance in The Boy from Oz. However, the most important role he ever took came to him in 1995 moments after he graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Hugh Jackman accepted a role on Correlli, a 10-part drama series on ABC. There’s a good chance that most fans of his more recent work have never heard of this show. However, it was the role that changed his life forever. It was there that he met Deborra-Lee Furness, the woman he would later marry.
On Thursday, Hugh Jackman appeared on the Today Show. During that interview, he told host Hoda Kotb that his marriage has been an easy one. Jackman said that he often hears people complain about how much work marriage is. However, he doesn’t see it that way at all. In fact, he calls his marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness one of the best things in his life, according to People.
“Deb is the lightest, most optimistic person I’ve ever met in my life,” Hugh Jackman said about his wife. He went on to gush more about her glowing personality, “If you ever want to play ‘Who’s the Happiest Person in the Room,’ Deb wins.”
It sounds like Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness both got lucky in the love department.
Hugh Jackman on Their 25th Anniversary
Jackman doesn’t need an occasion to gush about his wife. At the same time, it seems he doesn’t miss an opportunity when he sees one.
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness celebrated 25 years of marriage back in April of this year. To commemorate the milestone, the seasoned actor took to his Instagram to share his love of Deb with his followers.
In the post, he shared several photos from their wedding. Then, he used the post’s caption to tell everyone about their love. Honestly, it might be the sweetest thing you read all week.
Jackman started by saying, “Being married to you Deb is as natural as breathing. From nearly the moment we met, I knew our destiny was to be together.”
He went on to say that, in their years together, their love had only grown deeper. “The fun, excitement, and adventure,” only got more exhilarating. Hugh Jackman closed his post by saying, “I’m forever grateful to share our love, our life, and our family together. We’ve only just begun. Deb, I love you with all my heart.”
