Actor Jeff Bridges has been putting up the good fight against cancer and he expressed his thanks for “the love” via social media on Sunday.

Bridges, diagnosed with lymphoma last fall, says that he is feeling well after the first treatments. He offers updates to fans and the public through his website.

He told “Closer” magazine himself he was trying to avoid focusing on the negative. “I try not to get into the whole scare thing,” Jeff Bridges said. “You get hooked on fear and I find it kind of paralyzing. I’d rather act out of love.”

Bridges shared his most recent update on New Year’s Eve, posting a new photo with his wife and their new dog Monty. “Here’s a plan for the New Year… for always,” he wrote on his website. “Let the gratefulness overflow into blessing all around you.”

Here is the most recent photo of Bridges from his Instagram account.

Jeff Bridges Announces Lymphoma Diagnosis

In October, Jeff Bridges announced the news about being diagnosed with lymphoma as only he can do. He channels “the Dude.”

The star of “The Big Lebowski” and “The Giver” makes the announcement on Twitter. He did it, though in an optimistic, straight-forward light.

“As the Dude would say… New sh– has come to light. I have been diagnosed with lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good,” Jeff Bridges said. “I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.”

It’s what you want to hear from the 70-year-old actor. Also, a cancer diagnosis is never easy and lymphoma is a type that ravages the immune system.

Bridges Continues To Work At Low-Key Level

After a career resurgence in the early-to-mid 2010s, Jeff Bridges is keeping things low-key. He has not been in a film since 2018, contributing to Bad Times at the El Royale and Living in the Future’s Past.

However, Bridges has been working on a Hulu-based TV show called The Old Man.

This is likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, this has been causing a lot of delaying and disrupting of the production of many TV shows and movies.
