Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has just started his two weeks stint as “Jeopardy!” guest host. And fiancée Shailene Woodley is one of his biggest supporters. She’s already pushing for Rodgers to land the full-time hosting position on the show.

In her Instagram story, Woodley shared a video of herself and Rodgers driving. The couple hyped the upcoming episode, featuring Rodgers as guest host. She also shared a link to a post by The Ringer in which Rodgers discussed his full-time host prospects. The athlete believes he could properly balance his football career and his potential game show career.

“I don’t think I’d need to give up football to do it. They film 46 days a year,” Rodgers reportedly said. “I worked 187 this year in Green Bay. That gives me 178 days to do ‘Jeopardy!’ So I feel like I could fit 46 into that 178 and make it work. It would be a dream job for sure. And I’m not shy at all about saying I want the job.”

Aaron Rodgers As ‘Jeopardy!’ Host

Aaron Rodgers has certainly been one of the most enthusiastic guest hosts thus far about landing a full-time role on the show. The athlete has been proving that he’s both brains and brawn. For Rodgers, it would be a lifelong dream come true.

“There’s a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in this show for me,” Rodgers said in an interview. “Because I used to watch it when I was a kid when I would go on weeks to my grandpa and grandma’s house. It was a staple in their house every night. I sat there on the floor and really had no idea what was going on. But I just remember the voice of Alex. It was one of those voices of my youth.”

Rodgers also confessed that he’s not trying to replace late host Alex Trebek. If anything, he’s been trying to learn from Trebek’s example to prepare for his role guest host duties. For instance, he’s been reading through Trebek’s autobiography in preparation.

Since Trebek passed away last November, “Jeopardy!” has been without a permanent host. The show opted for a series of guest hosts rather than immediately searching for a new host. For many fans, Trebek was the epitome of “Jeopardy!” and is hard to replace. Sooner or later, the game show will make plans for a more permanent host on the show. It remains to be seen who the show ultimately hires.
