Any time Jennings and Holzhauer are involved with something, it’s an absolute treat. Their Twitter wars are this personified, too – and Monday is no exception. In fact, it may be their best banter yet.
In a rare case of Ken Jennings being out-Tweeted, his real-life pal and The Chase co-host, James Holzhauer, is bringing the fire. Let’s break this down.
Firstly, Jeopardy!‘s Jennings began with a simple tweet/prompt poking fun at Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reading: “What do you call one billionaire being shot into space?”
Typically, this leads to more brilliance from Ken. But Holzhauer, isn’t letting him get away with this one. Not today.
“You star on a TV show where three millionaires dangle money in front of everyday people, take that money away, and make fun of them while doing it,” James responds. Ouch! Fantastic! Ken is going to need some aloe for this A+ burn!
“Well sure, but not BILLIONAIRES!” Jennings replies. Millionaire or not, what a treasure this man is.
‘Jeopardy!’s Ken Jennings is a Twitter King
Indeed, Jeopardy!’s Ken Jennings is a national treasure. He often proves it on Twitter, where he puts the social media platform to its best use. He’s an old-school tweeter, too, opting for the traditional one sentence post 99% of the time.
Such was the case with this recent spot-on Parks & Recreation pull. For a bit of context, NBC’s Parks & Rec is consistently rated amongst the best sitcoms of all time, and little nuggets like this are absolutely why. The classic Amy Poehler-led show has a fan in Jeopardy! icon Ken Jennings, as well, it seems. And from this comes a tweet that has us all winning.
“The post-COVID part of this year is going to be that Parks & Rec where all the “March 31″ events come up at once,” tweets the Jeopardy! All-Time-Champ at the end of May.
It’s rare that a tweet makes us jaded folk laugh out loud in 2021. But this, right here, is one that does. Especially if you remember this fantastic episode.
Within, Parks & Rec’s April Ludgate (the incomparable Aubrey Plaza) realizes she’s made a huge blunder when her boss, Ron Swanson (the equally incomparable Nick Offerman), sees every event and call and meeting ever for the Pawnee Parks & Rec department come up on… March 31st.
Why? “Every time someone calls and requests a meeting with you, I always schedule it for March 31st,” admits April.
“Why?” asks a dumbfounded Ron.
“Because I didn’t think March 31st existed…”
