When it comes to “Jeopardy!” and the show’s search for a full-time host, all has been pretty quiet during this season of the show.

It makes sense, given just how much drama had surfaced following the decision-making process and then the actual decision itself. When the legendary and beloved longtime host of the show, Alex Trebek, passed away in November 2020, the show had to figure out how to continue on.

Both Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings Sticking Around

Popular all-star champion Ken Jennings first took over the hosting gig while the show executives calculated their next move. After that, a roster of guest hosts was drawn up and each served a small portion of time hosting. One of which was the executive producer of both “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” Mike Richards.

As he was selected as the full-time host, a flurry of past problematic comments and actions came to light. As a result, he was forced to resign as the host and eventually was fired as a producer on both shows.

Since then, the show decided to have Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings switch off as hosts. Bialik already had a small part of the hosting gig when Richards was selected. She was going to host all tournaments for the program.

Now, “Jeopardy!” announced that these two will stick around through the rest of the season. “We are delighted to let you know our excellent and experienced team in front of and behind the camera will continue into 2022: @missmayim and #kenjennings will share hosting duties through the end of #Jeopardy! Season 38, and Michael Davies will remain as executive producer,” the show’s official Instagram account announced.

So far, the comment section for the post is full of pretty positive reactions. Fans seem to love the duo and the fact that the hosting is split in two. The end of the season isn’t until July 2022, so we’ll be seeing a lot of the two “Jeopardy!” hosts.

Hosting ‘Jeopardy!’ Tournament

As of right now, Mayim Bialik is on the screen while the Professors Tournament airs.

It’s the first tournament of its kind as 15 different professors from around the country gather to possibly win $100,000. They would also walk away with a spot in the Tournament of Champions as well.

The tournament started on Monday and will go on until December 17. As for Bialik, she loves getting to witness all the bright educators on the show. She has her own personal connection to teaching as well.

“My parents had a combined 70 years of public school service as English teachers. I grew up believing that teachers were not just people who taught things but people who guided you in your journey in education and in life,” Bialik said, according to the official “Jeopardy!” site.
