Tonight Buzzy Cohen will potentially take the Jeopardy! stage for the last time, but how does he rank among other guest hosts?

Buzzy Cohen isn’t just joe-schmo from off the street invited to host one of the most popular game shows on television. No. Cohen has the credentials to back up the Jeopardy! legacy.

Buzzy Cohen Bio

Cohen is a former Jeopardy! champion with long ties to the show. According to the Jeopardy! website, Alex Trebek gave Buzzy Cohen the nickname “Mr. Personality” in 2016, which has stuck with him over the years and has become a fan favorite. Cohen won over $164,603 throughout nine episodes on Jeopardy!. He was invited back to the show in 2017 and proceeded to win the Tournament of Champions. As of 2019, he was named team captain for the All-Star Games. Now that he’s served as host for the tournament, Buzzy Cohen will not be eligible to return as a contestant.

Nevertheless, tonight is the final night of Cohen’s reign as host. How do you think he did in comparison to the other star-studded hosts that have already taken the stage? Later this summer, Jeopardy! should choose the permanent host to succeed the late Alex Trebek.

According to TV Line, the people have spoken, and Buzzy is sitting pretty high on the Jeopardy! hosting leaderboard. So far, we have seen eight eligible and talented celebrities guest host the popular game show. They include Ken Jennings, Mike Richards, Katie Couric, Dr. Oz, Aaron Rodger, Bill Whitaker, Anderson Cooper, and most recently Buzzy Cohen.

In a vote on the website that asked Jeopardy! fans to vote on their favorite host thus far, the results may shock you.

Jeopardy! Hosts Ranked

Ken Jennings has been the reigning champion since he first took the stage in January following Alex Trebek’s death. However, that may not be the case anymore. Buzzy Cohen surprisingly leads the votes with 41.08 percent! My goodness! Next in line is Ken Jennings, with only 18.38 percent of the vote. Talk about a significant lead.

In third place, with 13.25 percent of the vote, doesn’t even go to a person at all, but an idea. The choice states, “Undecided. Gonna wait and see how the remaining guest hosts do.” With such incredible talent to come, it’s a fair choice.

Next, we have executive producer Mike Richards with 10.78 percent, followed closely by Aaron Rodgers with 10.52 percent. Further down the list, TV personality, Anderson Cooper ranked in with 3.74 percent. While Bill Whitaker barely received one percent of the votes.

Rounding out the bottom two spots, we have Katie Couric and Dr. Mehmet Oz. Both have less than one percent of the votes. As we said before, with such amazing talent still to come, it’s hard to lock down a favorite just yet.
