‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Matt Amodio Parodies ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ with His Own Name

Matt Amodio is still crushing his competition on Jeopardy!. And we thank the powers that be—and his amazing intellect—for that. We’ve grown to adore his quirky personality and punny social media posts. So we hope Amodio never leaves the spotlight.

Luckily, he isn’t showing any signs of getting booted from the game show just yet. As of today (October 4th), he’s on a 33 game winning streak. That means he’s the second most game-winning contestant in the history of Jeopardy!. When his number ticked past 32 last Friday, he overtook James Holzhauser’s record. Only 41 more shows to go before he takes over Ken Jennings’s record for 74.

And speaking of Amodio, he has been posting some hilariously epic Tweets lately. His most recent Tweet is definitely one of our favorites. In the post, he likened his name to Queen’s classic 1975 classic Bohemian Rhapsody. So sing his words appropriately.

“I see a little A-mo-di-o of a man, Scaramouch, Scaramouch, will you do the Amo-di-o!” he wrote. “From “Amodi-Bohemian Rhapsody”

It’s pretty catchy and clever, right? And now that you all have the song stuck in your heads, you’re welcome.

‘Jeopardy!’ Champion Matt Amodio Says That Hosting Drama Hasn’t Tainting His Experience On The Game Show

During an interview with Good Morning America today, Jeopardy! champion Matt Amodio talked about his time on the game show. And while he was chatting, he admitted that he’s been mostly unaffected by the troubles surrounding the show’s search for a new host.

Ever since Alex Trebek passed in August of last year, Jeopardy! has been struggling to replace him. No one quite measures up to the icon. And the whole situation has been a mess of drama. Of course, everything is happening while Matt Amodio is on a historic winning streak.

But on GMA, Amodio said despite all of that, he’s enjoyed his experience on the series.

“So Jeopardy! is not one person, Jeopardy! is a whole team. And there’s one person changing, but everything else is staying the same,” Amodio told GMA. “The crew just does a great job of keeping contestants comfortable and making them feel special.”

And for now, Amodio is enjoying his time with the show’s guest host, Mayim Bialik.

“She is kind with the contestants, making them feel at ease in a stressful situation,” Amodio said.

When Robin Roberts asked Amodio how he keeps winning, he was too humble.

“A lot of luck. I feel like I’ve been in a fortunate position,” he answered. “It’s just. When you get in a groove, things can just take you.”

We think it’s pure genius that makes Amodio win every night. But it’s ok that he’s modest. It’s part of his charm.
