It’s safe to say not every “Jeopardy!” fan was pleased with Wednesday’s news about the new hosts. That includes fans of Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, was a guest host during the game show’s last season. On Wednesday, it was announced that Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik would be the new “Jeopardy!” hosts.
So, Outsiders, what say you to this news that left Rodgers out on the football field? They have a lot to say.
Twitter follower Chaddy Chadd said, “What about Aaron Rodgers??”
Gary Francis wrote, “I wanted @aaronrodgers12”.
Another fan, Justin Watry, wrote, “Not true. Aaron Rodgers was 100% for sure totally going to retire and host Jeopardy!”.
‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Will Have To Watch Rodgers Now On The Football Field
Will these fans keep watching the show without Aaron Rodgers as the host? Who knows. Yet if they are true Aaron Rodgers fans, then they can start getting ready for the upcoming NFL season. Because he’ll be back running the Packers’ offense.
Richards, who had been the executive producer for “Jeopardy!”, has a history with game shows. Actually, Richards was up for consideration as a replacement host for Bob Barker on “The Price is Right.” That show, though, decided to pick comedian Drew Carey over Richards.
Bialik has been a familiar face on TV since the 1990s. She starred in “Blossom” as well as being Jim Parsons’ love interest on”The Big Bang Theory.”
Bialik spent two weeks as a guest host on “Jeopardy!” as she also is a neuroscientist when she’s not acting.
Richards Said He’s ‘Incredibly Humbled’ By New Role
Others who watch the game show regularly will either keep watching or turn it off. “Jeopardy!” will have Richards as the regular host, meaning he takes the everyday role from the late Alex Trebek. Bialik will host spin-off shows and specials.
“Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined being chosen to step into a role of this magnitude,” Richards says of the Sony Entertainment announcement. “I am incredibly humbled to step behind the lectern and will work tirelessly to make sure our brilliant contestants shine in each and every episode.”
Richards also offered support for Bialik.
“I am thrilled that Mayim is joining the ‘Jeopardy!’ team,” Richards said. “Her academic track record and enthusiasm for the game made her a terrific guest host. It will be a privilege to produce the primetime series with her as host.”
“Jeopardy!” fans will have Richards coming into their homes Monday through Friday.
The show has been on in syndication since the 1980s when Trebek took on the host role. But the show originally appeared on NBC in the 1960s with Art Fleming as its host. “Jeopardy!” was created by entrepreneur/talk-show host Merv Griffin.
