Some Jeopardy! fans are ready for the long line of guest hosts to come to an end. It ended for a short time last month. Sony announced that executive producer Mike Richards would host the show. However, that didn’t sit well with fans. For one, many long-time viewers of the show believed that Richards rigged the selection process. Then, reports of workplace discrimination lawsuits began to recirculate.

Additionally, some offensive and, frankly, stupid things that Richards said on his podcast came to light. In the end, he hosted a grand total of five episodes before stepping down amid the backlash. Then, Richards exited the show completely, giving up his executive producer position. Now, the show is back to guest hosts and an interim EP.

Unsurprisingly, Jeopardy! fans are exhausted at this point. After all, the show stood as a drama-free institution for decades. No one had to worry about the integrity of the show when Alex Trebek was running the game.

One Jeopardy! fan on Reddit thinks they’ve cracked the code. Honestly, they might be on to something here. In a post titled “Jeopardy! Hosting Dilemma Solution,” the fan said, ” Ken for host, Buzzy for specials, Matt for traveling host, and Jeopardy James for EP.” This is a strong lineup.

However, another fan replied with a revised lineup. They think that Ken Jennings should be the executive producer with David Faber hosting the show and Buzzy Cohen covering the specials. This too makes sense.

People loved David Faber when he was the guest host. Buzzy Cohen was a favorite as well. So, those two sharing hosting duties would please several Jeopardy! fans. Additionally, they both have a deep respect for the game. As a result, they would both make for solid picks. Ken Jennings currently serves as a consulting producer on the show. So, getting the bump to EP would most likely be a good fit for him.

Will Sony Listen to ‘Jeopardy!’ Fans This Time Around?

Jeopardy! fans were vocal about their choices for full-time host throughout the last season of the show. Ken Jennings, Buzzy Cohen, LeVar Burton, and a few others had strong fan support. However, you would be hard-pressed to find a group of fans who were strongly behind Mike Richards.

Part of the backlash that Sony experienced after naming Mike Richards as the host came from fans who felt ignored. Jeopardy! is a great show and has been for decades. It’s an escape from whatever is going on in the world and a way to learn new things.

However, the fans keep the show afloat. If no one is watching, ratings go down. So, one would think that Sony would do what they could to ensure a successful show while also making the fans feel like they were heard.
