“Jeopardy!” fans are expressing their voice on who their favorite guest host has been so far on the game show as Robin Roberts ends her week.
Roberts, who is a co-host on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” held down the podium through Friday. Now LeVar Burton will get his chance on “Jeopardy!” as its guest host starting Monday.
TVLine is running a poll on who people would choose to be the next full-time host of the game show. As of Friday night, Mayim Bialik is leading the voting with “Tournament of Champions” winner Ken Jennings in second. “Undecided” is in third, followed by “Jeopardy!” executive producer Mike Richards in fourth. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is in fifth, followed by “Tournament of Champions” winner Buzzy Cohen in sixth.
As of Friday night, Roberts is sitting in seventh place. But some fans are already mentioning Burton in their comments.
‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Offer Different Array Of Suggestions For Next Host
One fan, Doug Hill, wrote, “I was confused that Levar Burton wasn’t higher on the list. Now I’m confused because Levar Burton isn’t ON the list.” Another fan, Tom Kosenky, replied, “Hard to vote for or include someone who has yet to be seen.” Hill replied, “Yeah, I didn’t realize. Oops.”
Holly Elizabeth wrote, “This is premature and besides we all want Lavar.”
Then Darlene Catherine wrote, “Why are you polling this now? I’ll wait until I can vote for LeVar Burton.”
So there are some people who will wait until after Burton hosts and add their votes. Some already have decided Bialik would be a solid pick, while others want Jennings.
Even Richards got some votes himself. It’s going to be a tough decision either way as “Jeopardy!” will look to find a permanent host before next season.
Roberts Felt Sense of ‘Gratitude’ After Guest Hosting Show
As she wrapped up her week-long stint as a guest host, Roberts expressed once again her “gratitude” toward “Jeopardy!” as well as Alex Trebek.
Roberts retweeted the post that “Jeopardy!” shared with a clip from the opening of Friday’s show. Once again, she shared her appreciation for the game show and its longtime host.
“I had a great respect for Alex Trebek long before stepping in as a guest host,” Roberts said. “But having now been here for the week, it has exceeded what I thought of him. I began the week saying his spirit is still very present. And that’s because of all the people behind the scenes who carry on his legacy and love for you who watch and play.”
