‘Jeopardy!‘: George Stephanopoulos Responds to Robin Roberts as Her Guest Hosting Stint Starts

Former “Jeopardy!” guest host George Stephanopoulos is cheering on his fellow “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts as she begins guest hosting tonight.

Stephanopoulos finished his tenure as guest host last week, filling in for the late Alex Trebek after his tragic passing last November. Stephanopoulos and Roberts are among many guest hosts leading the game show as they seek a permanent host.

Roberts will host from Monday, July 19 until Friday, July 23. “Jeopardy!” recently shared a video on their social media pages introducing Roberts and her charity, Be The Match. Last night, the “GMA” co-anchor quote tweeted the message and added, “Yes, It’s indeed a thrill to be asked to guest host…but all of us @Jeopardy fans (myself included) know the biggest thrill belongs to all the incredible contestants!”

Not long after she posted, Roberts’ co-anchor Stephanopoulos sent his encouragement. “You will kill it Robin!!!!” Stephanopoulos captioned his tweet.

Roberts responded with a heart emoji and said, “Thank you my dear friend! You set the bar very high last week!! See you in the morn.”

Several fans also commented on the former “Jeopardy!” guest host’s post, mostly congratulating him on doing a good job last week and wishing Roberts good luck this week.

“You were fantastic. Hope you get to host again. Cannot wait to watch Robin,” one fan tweeted.

“You were the best so far George! Good luck to Robin!” another said.

“I love your energy robin! Every morning for as long as I can remember! I love the whole GMA team! You are my company every morning! You all are the best! Best of luck Robin! You’ll be great!” another fan commented.

We’ll see what the fans have to say about Roberts’ performance after her “Jeopardy!” episodes air tonight.

Robin Roberts Nervous About Guest Hosting ‘Jeopardy!’

In an exclusive interview with “Jeopardy!” Robin Roberts looked incredulous when producers asked her if she was nervous to guest host the show.

“Was I nervous?” Roberts said. She reached down to shake her knees. “Did you hear that?”

She quickly followed up by saying, “But it’s great to have those butterflies. And everybody here made me feel right at home. But yeah, I was a little nervous.”

Earlier on in the interview, Roberts expressed how happy she was to take on the role of guest host.

“Who wouldn’t want to guest host ‘Jeopardy!’? It’s on the bucket list, you go ‘Check!’” said the “GMA” co-anchor. “It was a great honor, couldn’t say no. Didn’t want to say no.”

Only three guest hosts remain after Roberts finishes up. LeVar Burton takes the reins next week, followed by David Faber and Joe Buck. Hopefully, by the end of the season, a permanent host will be announced.
