The new “Jeopardy!” guest-host is a man of the people.
Aaron Rodgers took to Instagram following his hosting debut to answer some questions from fans. The quarterback revealed a football-like approach to his preparation, claiming that he watched at least 100 hours of “Jeopardy!” film before he taped.
Who was he studying? The one and only Alex Trebek, of course.
In the video posted to IGTV, the Green Bay Packers quarterback and Shailene Woodley answered questions from 10 lucky fans. His answers gave fans a lot of insight into his experiences on the show. But his last response was the most touching of all.
When asked to describe the legendary “Jeopardy!” host in the three words, Rodgers held up a copy of Alex Trebek’s memoir.
“Read his book,” he said.
The heartfelt moment was briefly interrupted by an entrance from the couple’s dog, who heard the name “Alex Trebek” and came running.
“I’d encourage you to read Alex’s book if you’re a big fan of Alex or the show,” Rodgers continued. “He’s an amazing gentleman. In life and death, a true hero. And a true inspiration to so many people.”

‘Jeopardy!’ Guest-Host Aaron Rodgers Keeping Trebek’s Legacy Intact
The quarterback has been vocal about how much he loves “Jeopardy!” and his appearance on “Celebrity Jeopardy!” back in 2015 gave him an up-close and personal look at Alex Trebek doing what he did best.
Aaron told Pat McAfee in an interview that he didn’t watch any of the other guest-hosted episodes of “Jeopardy!” because he wanted to stay as true as he could to Alex Trebek’s style. He went even further, saying that he’s shooting for the permanent hosting gig.
He clearly cares a lot about the legendary host’s legacy. The three words he shared encouraged fans to go out and read Trebek’s memoir. For those that are interested, the book is titled “The Answer Is… Reflections on My Life.”
